Enroute Class pass rate

Know-nothing here. Why would a facility fall off the list just because a couple people failed out?
That’s just how it works. Say there are 10 class members, then there are 10 facilities in need on your list. Those facilities are numbered 1 through 10. If two people fail, facilities 9 and 10 are no longer on the list for the passing individuals to choose.

Just...one more way for the FAA to screw you over early in your career so you can get used to routine raw-dogging you’ll get for the next 30 years.

It used to be 2 facilities per person. But they found that to be too generous. It’s kind of weird they facilities fall off. If a class passes 2/12 it’s like the 2 that passed are getting punished

I was one of the last classes that got two choices per passing student. Then two facilities per failure dropped off the list, and the first 33% (I think) facilities were mandatory. So if ZNY was number one on the list, and you’re last to choose between ZNY and ZMEM...you’re going to Long Island.

Thanks for the explanation. I had no idea the list posted here had an order that mattered.

I can see why the FAA would do that. But yes, I would absolutely be crushed if my pick dropped off because of that. I suppose it's an incentive to help your classmates a bit during the academy.

Definitely. But you want to do better than them as well. You’re ranked against your classmates based on your final score in the class, and that’s the facility draft order on placement day.
