Hiring Bid Air Traffic Control Specialist - Trainee: FAA-ATO-17-ALLSRCE-53474

Just got notified of tier 2, 12:30pm CST.

Great..

I didn’t reach ouch, I actually just got an unexpected email today from someone named Stacey telling me I was tier 2 and asking for more paperwork before they are able to put me into the “tier 2 processing queue”

Trying to stay positive. Hopefully my day will come.

Sorry about the bad news. Your day WILL come, just later on. If you're legit not crazy the Tier-2 process is time consuming but most people do make it through and get a class date. The good news is they are actually in contact with you! Last bid people waited months just to hear from Hope, but with the way things are moving this time around I would not look at tier-2 the same way as you did before.

That’s what I keep telling myself. Everything about this bid is seemingly moving faster than ever before so hopeful that pattern stays true through the tier 2 process. Thanks for the words of encouragement

If the stories about washouts are true, at would point could they consider themselves "safe" from immediate rescission/termination for this reason? When they have a FOL? When they begin training? Or is there no such point?
The day they step foot into the academy.

I have my conditional clearance and I did my physical Yesterday the last thing I have to do is my drug test Monday.. what’s been thgoing average time line for this bid from finishing medical and all requirements to a call with a class date or fol?
I got a date within a week of taking the drug test. Everything else was done.

No worries, you're probably already conditionally cleared anyway. If their attempt goes unanswered they will probably contact your manager by phone or email (if you supplied it), and if that doesn't work they will move on.

So they will grant a conditional clearance before contacting your employers or other references?

Yes. I have my conditional clearance, but my current employer hasn’t received anything yet. My references have not been contacted yet either.

Yep, same here. The person adjudicating your conditional clearance will decide how deep they need to go. Sometimes they can get an accurate picture of you without too much digging. I don't know how deep they will go during your full clearance investigation, but for the purposes of attending the academy this is good enough to them.

Called my security POC this morning and was told I have a conditional security clearance and she has sent the paperwork to HR. My employers have received the paperwork but have not sent it back.

Also heard for the first time from my Medical POC. Had to fill out a allergy questionnaire related to hay fever, and send in test results concerning a heart arrhythmia not caused by heart disease. It sounds like that’s all they need regarding that.

When did you submit everything to medical?

I finished everything by 2/28, emailed a week later and asked my status. Someone new emailed me a list of things I needed to send since I had an alcohol related charge. I sent those documents in and three days later I got an email from the flight surgeon saying I'm medically cleared.

Since I've been cleared medically does that mean I'm all set and should be expecting an email for a class date?

Hopefully my file is getting reviewed now. I finished 2/19, got an email a week later for more info and sent it in a week after that.
From what I've read applicants were getting phone calls with dates.

Similiar set of circumstances, I finished all of mine around the 15th and I'm still waiting on the flight surgeons review.
