Candidate Bryan Zilonis -President

What's he mean by not including the president/vp/rvps on the listservs? Are they included in every email?

For my facility the RVP is cc’d on everything, then shows up and wonders what is wrong every single time even though it is mentioned in the list serve email.

He means that if your facility or committee or just the towers or just the centers or whatever, wants to have its own list serve, for only your members and not have the P, VP, or RVP on it, they should be able to and not be forced to have them on there.

I thought that term died with AOL CDs with 500 free hours on them. I didn't even know there was a listsrv for normal members. Its probably about as popular as natca's forums and reddit sub.
There's so many alternatives though if people actually were interested in that sort of thing. Heck you could make private forums here.

Previous tower I was at, emails sent to the local members stayed local. Not sent to anyone else.

I used to read the natca BBS all the time. Seemed like it was mainly posts about "xxxxx has been selected as an FLM at YYY....remove them."

Lots of list serves out there, most centers use them, terminals, center facreps, large tracons, rvps have them for their regions, etc.. It's used quite extensively.

Chris,
Thank you for your response, I have no doubt you did work for NATCA over the years, as so many of us have because as you know, we have been a volunteer army for the last 30 years. (I can hear the violin playing) but that in no way makes any of us special.
We spoke on the phone (on speaker phone with Trish in the background) last year after in the spring of 2016 when you were vocal at ZDC about quitting the PAC because of NATCA’s position on the first Shuster bill that pulled ATC out from the FAA and into a NON-FOR POFIT.
I gave you our reasons, explained that the status quo is unacceptable, and that the language protects us. I told you that you can email or call me anytime if you have questions. I also said you don’t have to agree but you need to come to us first and have the facts before bashing us publicly.
After all you have no issues emailing me for important stuff like baseball or hockey tickets
You told me that this is how you react to things, you shoot off your mouth and then you calm down.
I explained that we use you for NATCA national work and that you should come to us for the facts before shooting off your mouth. You agreed and said you would.
I then went on to tell you I do not play baseball with people (meaning you don’t get 3 strikes and you now have one), you said you understand and that you would come to us if you had any concerns.
You chaired the San Diego convention credentials committee, no issues at all.
Fast forward to your posts this year!
You did not give us a call, you just shot off your big mouth without the facts. And funny you didn’t copy the other post where you “thanked pass for fighting for us” What a joke!!
So the facts are…
We worked the language with the committee on the Defazio bill and supported it before anybody did, A fact you would have known if you sent us an email.
Even knowing the Defazio bill wouldn’t go anywhere being that he is in the minority in the house. (a smart guy like you should know that)
But you needed to question leadership on social media, without the facts!!
The other post you left out was you thanked “pass for fighting for you”
Hey Chris, Fuck you!!
pass isn’t fighting anything! They have signs and buttons saying they are against privatization but for the mere fact that their positions are being outsourced to private companies everyday and they are too stupid to understand whats happening.
The only Union fighting for your pay, benefits, retirement, working conditions and everything we hold close our heart is NATCA!
And thats a fact, big mouth!!
The fact that you are blind copying people shows what a disingenuous punk you are. Put the truth out there, why hide behind something?
But I guess that’s who you are!
I have dealt with punk asses like you my entire life and I will take you head on.
I am hitting reply all, so that your dear friends can see the truth about your big mouth, lacking facts bullshit.
I am also hitting CC to the NEB and if you continue to be a punk ass, big mouth full of bullshit, next will be CC’d to ZDC membership.
I say again…
Come to the convention in Philadelphia ( a short drive for you) and bestow your wisdom on the NATCA supreme body (because clearly they are dummies and got it wrong the last 2 conventions) on how our current path is a mistake.
Chris the time has come for you to start acting like a man and stop acting like a little punk !!
You say you want what’s best for NATCA but then reduced your PAC from $192 to $5 because you didn’t get to be on the Convention Credentials Committee!
Hmmmm!

Thanks for the quick reply.
You know my first NATCA job was handing out signature cards so that we could get NATCA certified. I have been a member literally since day one and have been paying dues longer than that. I joined the PAC on the day it was created and have been maxed out for a long time. Throughout that time, from time to time, I have disagreed with the leadership a few times. I always felt that my opinion mattered and was heard and I never felt threatened for stating my opinion. I have never spoken against the NEB in a public forum be it a class, a committee, or any Union meeting and I do not plan on doing so in the future. I truly despise "NATCA politics" and stopped running for offices a long time ago to avoid them. My preferred role has been being a "grunt" and doing work in the background.
Yes I disagree with NATCA's current stance on supporting the Shuster bill. I wholeheartedly agree on having a seat at the table but see no reason to abandon other approaches each seeking the same net result. Despite my disagreement on this issue, I am NOT outspoken on the matter. When asked my opinion, I usually just say "I am not a fan" and quickly try to change the subject. Yes I do "like" some posts I see online that do not support privatization but rarely, if ever, re-post them. I did repost the PASS post on the DeFaziio bill (which is attached) with only the comment that I am curious as to why NATCA is the only Union not supporting it. Yes I know it is not going to pass, but then again, neither is Shuster's going to pass the Senate.
Last summer I told you that I had heard some NATCA reps had their positions/details threatened if they did not get onboard. I refused to supply you with their names. I can now supply you with one. Mine.
I truly wish you, and more importantly, NATCA success. I do love our Union and have always tried to do right by it.

Written by a smooth brained thug, wow. I know how I'm voting...

It appalls me, that a NATCA Charter Member would be spoken to like this as if he had committed some sort of travesty. These are not the streets of New York where you can address someone like this. Paul's diatribe against Chris is not how a Union President should act. My interpretation (Strictly mine, make your own) of this, continues to reinforce the idea of the Mafia mentality that has invaded our Union and must be stamped out before it spreads further. Encourage all forms of discussion and just because there is disagreement or difference of opinion is no reason to act such with such venom towards a member.

Hey Paul, that's not how email works, you dumbass

A couple of things (besides the obvious):
1. Paul threatens to email all the members of ZDC, hoping to have him bullied at work.
2. He blatantly lies saying NATCA worked with Defazio, but Defazios own congressional testimony disputes that fact. See attached.
3. His complete disrespect for our brothers and sisters of PASS.

That was the most egregious thing I saw.
I do all my trash-talking of people through text/phone. Basically non-govt systems.
My first Federal Union was PASS, granted I was not especially active but I attended every Union meeting, had a chance to meet/talk to Mike Perrone, and still proudly carry my PASS lanyard/keychain. PASS works hard with the resources they have, granted there is much more apathy amongst them than ATC, but they do a damn good job.
