Planning to apply to the next open bid, but I currently work at sea with minimal internet access

I want to apply to the next open bid, but I work on a cruise ship right now. I can only access internet and phone service for a few hours every home port, which is Saturday mornings. I could also find WiFi in Mexico once per week if I need to, but I don't always know when I'll have time to get off the ship.

I am concerned that this will prevent me from being able to take the AT-SA or complete the medical examination. In December I'll be on break, so I'll have a few months in the states to catch up on stuff if I need to.

Is the AT-SA administered entirely online? Do I need to go to a specific facility to complete my medical examination or the security check? Anything else that might be hard for me to complete? Thanks

The public hire announcement should be posted on July 26th. That'll give you time on Saturday the 28th to submit your application.
The ATSA is the next step and will need to be completed in the states at a testing center which will probably be in September or October. After that (assuming you pass) is the rest of the process.
Your medical examination will also have to be at an Aviation Medical Examiner's office also in the states.

I see. Sounds like I might be screwed for the ATSA. Any idea if I'd be able to take it in Galveston, TX on a Saturday morning?

Is the word on the street the ots bid is supposed to open on 7/26/18 now? Had been anticipating the June bid but haven’t heard anything since the postponement. Thanks!
