Hiring Bid FAA-ATO-19-ALLSRCE-61676

Has anyone else had issues registering on eqip? I know for a fact I have all my info correct when I try to register and yet it continues to tell me it’s wrong then lock me out for 30 minutes at a time. I’ve emailed my security rep, though any help here would be appreciated

Do you only get one shot at passing the medical for the FAA? If you were to fail once, get the condition fixed/under control and reapply, would they give you a second chance to pass?

If you fail the medical portion of your clearance, you could always appeal the decision, but be prepare to wait.

Still no CIL from CS. I'm not in a hurry since I'm waiting a response back from Southwest for their 225 Cadet Pilot Program.
Not a bad program they’re offering but given the pilot shortage, Airlines should be trying to make it a lot more competitive as far as cost or deleting the cost and requiring an employment contract. JetBlue does the same thing for $20k more. SunState Aviation in Kissimmee is pretty good too since you get all your ratings in 5 months and then you get hired as an FI until you get your hours. It’s about 25-30k there.

If you fail the vision test you are allowed to see an eye doctor, get your vision corrected and submit documentation to prove that. The process is more complicated if you fail the color vision portion.

I got contacts ahead of time - do I need to bring some kind of documentation of my astigmatism level/prescription? My medical is Thursday.

I agree and that was one of the reasons I'm looking at this instead. I would gladly accept a lower starting salary and a commitment contract to waive the training fees associated. I only have a private so getting to an ATP would sting hard. Eventually they'll have to up their incentives if they want to keep their planes flying.

So long as there are people willingly to pay $100K for flight school, the airlines will gladly not have to pay it. It's 1 year for all training and instrument ratings. 3-4 years of CFI commitment, but you skip regionals and get a direct hire to Southwest. Worst case I liquidate my 401K to pay the entire training cost but only as a last resort. Either way, i'm glad to be transitioning to a different industry. 5 years of being a public accounting can only be so good for the brain.

Almost done with the administrative portion of the process. Getting my medical thursday and drug test friday. Heading down to OKC after my drug test to get my fingerprints done there so they have them right away. Ready to have all this paperwork finished! Not fun having 13 job entries for the last 10 years and 9 different housing situations.
