Random question but do they tell you if you’re Tracon or tower before you get to academy?

It says in the FOL. Probably something along the lines of:
Position: Air Traffic Control Specialist (ATCS), FG-2152-01
Speciality: Terminal (TRACON)

You are placed on one of two routes via your offer letter unless it's a direct hire.
-Terminal= Towers and TRACONS (levels 4-12)
-Enroute= Centers (levels 9-12)

We're not 100% sure, but the academy training breakdown mentions TETRA explicitly, and the three of us are all from the NYC/Long Island area. Other people have been telling me it's likely N90, though.

It will say on your FOL, but in the email where you got sent dates, it would also mention TRACON in the subject line (probably), and one of the portions of the academy training for me mentions TETRA.

To date, TETRA is only for N90. TSEW is used for other 10-12 TRACONs.

Seems pretty likely. I think they have a class going through now that are OTS hires going to N90.

Yup our OTS class got TRACON as well, we report to OKC next week, N90 confirmed on the FOL.
