Hiring Bid Air Traffic Control Specialist - Trainee: FAA-ATO-16-ALLSRCE-49075 Bid

Does anyone know of any new practice tests for the AT-SA. Would they be the same as they were for the AT-SAT? Google is only showing me old At-Sat practice test products. Thanks.

Yes, PLEASE. If anyone has any additional information on what to expect or what to study for this new test, that'd be awesome. There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of info out there.

No one has any information on the new test. Some people have taken it (while they were validating the test) , however no one is sure what will be on it. There were different versions of the test given , and not all features will be the same on the final test. Expect it to be similar to the atsat, but harder.

E-mails are going out from PSI today to schedule the AT-SA. Looks like starting next week and going through Dec 15th. There are a few weekends available, so for those unable to take off work, you might want to schedule ASAP before they fill up.

Well if it is only until 15 Dec I might get screwed over. I'm currently deployed and not set to be back until 12-13 Dec, assuming all transportation is on time.

It's not really something you can study for. For example, you're not going to get a question like what is 5+5? You're going to get 5+5, 7*3, 4-10, 8+2, 9*3 all flash within a couple seconds and ask what was the third problem was. You're not really supposed to know what's going to be on it, because it would compromise the baseline measurements.

With all the problems the FAA has had recently with cheating and the BQ etc, I'd be very surprised if you ever see any information about the AT-SA released.

I totally understand people trying to find out more info. I just don't think it does any good to stress about it. Showing up to the test rested and alert is going to be the best prep you can do. That being said, if someone who takes it wants to do a write up, I would make it available here.

PS: I think mikemike did a brief write up somewhere around here in what the baseline testing AT-SA.

EDIT: Turns out I have a great memory. I should be a controller. Linky. It's earlier in this thread.

PPS: the search function is really good on this software

Possibly. When you get the email, check your location and see. Different locations have different dates/times. I have heard some are starting this week even. There might be a location near you (check all them you can) that might have something on the 20th or so. You can always ask HR for further info.

I got the e-mail yesterday and called the closest testing center today. The lady was incompetent and had no clue what I was talking about. I called HR also but was on hold too long. I will call back again to see what they say. According to the PSI website, I have the ability to schedule through 30 January. Let's see what HR says.

If you follow the link in the email, you can see locations/times available without committing to one. Yea, PSI is not going to be any help with it, they just proctor it and typically don't know much about what is going on.

I think in last years bid they added some dates later on too. Considering last year was around 2400 people taking it, and it took 1.5 months to conduct, I find it hard to believe they will have 9300 people take it in the same time frame.

I looked at all of the locations within a reasonable drive (~6 hours) and the latest date is 15 December. After calling Aviation Careers and talking to the notorious Pam she suggested e-mailing the address listed in the e-mail we received and explaining my situation. She said that it is a unique circumstance and they might make an exception.

That's a valid point. Hopefully they extend the time frame out due to the influx of people taking it. On the PSI website it says that I have until 30 January to schedule, but Pam said that she would not trust that date because it is from PSI and not the FAA.

Received my email OCt 31st and scheduled my test for the 19th of NOv. in B-Ham AL im pretty excited and want to get it over with before thanksgiving. Good Luck guys

Yeah Texas gets really hot and there's not always an ocean breeze to cool you off. I'm the same way when it comes to the cold, but the way I look at it is I can always put on more clothes. We're in the armpit, I mean, the panhandle of Florida. All jokes aside, it was a great assignment for my family and I and much better than going to Del Rio like we were originally supposed to. I would love to go to that area of Florida if I had the option, especially the Orlando area.

Where @? I'm in Navarre. Going to the Academy for terminal in Feb. Crossing my fingers, praying the rosary, meditating for good karma to hopefully get assigned @ PNS (long shot, I know). If not, Tampa would be sweet.

Hate to burst your bubble, but you won't get TPA straight out of the academy as it's a level 10. You can expect a 4-6 with an occasional 7. PNS would fall in that category, but according to the latest staffing information they have listed in the facilities tab, they're over 100% staffed.

I live on and work at Hurlburt. I would not be opposed to getting PNS if I'm lucky enough to get picked up. Do you have any prior experience?

Good luck. I took it there this past Friday. Also to save you a trip back out to your car, leave your phone in the car.
