Hiring Bid Air Traffic Control Specialist - Trainee: FAA-ATO-16-ALLSRCE-49075 Bid

Seems like a lot of people are being referred from this bid. Or does it just seem that way since the people who are on these forums are people who had previously been blocked by the BQ and finally got through with the changes.
Not to be Debbie downer, but being referred just means you met the eligibility requirements up to this point in the process. Literally everyone who took the ATSA could have been referred (assuming the scoring is not relative).

This isn't true. I called the HR department earlier and they confirmed that anyone with a "Referred" status has passed the ATSA and it's only a waiting game until they start sending out TOLs. They did not clarify whether or not passing the ATSA directly relates to receiving a TOL though.

They also told me the ATSA was pass/ fail, no score involved.

If you received a "Not Referred" would you be running to .65 or stuckmic bragging about how you are no longer being considered for this job announcement?

I know making in onto a referral list does not mean much these days, but I'll consider it a start. I was referred for Pool 1 which is the furthest I have made it since before the FAA introduced the BioQ a few years back. Unfortunately, I also made it onto multiple referral lists after graduating school back in 2011 with no success, so I will continue to keep my fingers crossed. At my current place of employment there is a group of 7 ERAU and DWC CTI grads and we all took the test together. We walked out of the testing center thinking we all bombed the thing and had no hope for success. After speaking with them, only three of us passed the AT-SA and were put onto referral lists. Makes me wonder what the pass/fail percentage was for the test was.

Thanks for the perspective I took it with 2 other CTI and so far only I have been the one referred. Pass rate could be anywhere from 33-60%

I would like to see numbers from FAA HR regarding the amount of applicants that made the referral list. I also want to know my score haha.

I suppose that kind of info is not available on the computers that controllers log onto though.

3rd bid I've applied to since the 2014 bid. CTI 2012.

Ahh ok, you should be used to not getting your hopes up by now! Haha. I've been trying since 2011 and after a little bit of luck and persistence I got a tol from the experienced bid. Just waiting to start the rest of the process now. Best of luck to ya!

Congratulations! Yeah, I was exaggerating a little lol . It's just like playing the lottery I guess. Thank you, and good luck on your journey!

So if making the referral list doesn't mean you will be selected, how do they choose who gets TOL? I was super excited and celebrating with my family until I read this :(

So this doesn't mean anything and they could still deny me before the medical and all that?

Dartboard + blindfold = selection

It's a referral list. You've met the criteria to be considered for selection. All the referral list means is you are eligible to be selected, not that you have been selected.

My plan is to celebrate when(if) I certify. Being Referred feels good but there is so much that can go wrong between now and then that means the dream is over.
