Does anyone know if for a mutual reassignment transfer request, do you have to be CPC for 1 year at your current facility or could you be a CPC-IT at your current facility with at least a year CPC at your previous facility.
Section 8 says “have a minimum of 1 year as a certified controller at his/her facility”

Seems pretty clear 1 year certified at your facility. Not your previous one or the one from two hardships ago.

Yeah, cause the FAA always makes sense… nothing is “pretty clear” and that was a totally reasonable question with all the idiocracy that the FAA creates.
Now, now, while it is “pretty clear” that you need a year CPC at the current facility, it’s still a question worth asking as the FAA and NATCA simple ignore the rules and what is “clear” whenever it’s convenient for them.

To submit a swap request, what exactly is the process? Just submitting a letter to each ATM by the ERR submission deadline?

Yes. There is a sample in the resources here you can follow for formatting. If memory serves the swap paperwork doesn’t actually need to be in by the ERR deadline as they are a different process, but just in case the earlier the better.

Thanks!

Just got word from headquarters! You can use your year CPC from your last facility.
That’s why the contract doesn’t use the words “current facility”
It only makes sense since you’re able to use your previous facility, if it was a higher level than your current, to go up or down three you should be able to use it for your year of CPC

Did you get it writing or on the phone? Guess I’m an asshole if correct!

I was had been trying to swap for 3 years.. They are extremely unlikely to be approved due to the rules now. Which being - both facilities have to be able to release. Plus they are looked at after ERRs. So you could get easily jumped. So you might as well go the ERR route.

Not saying its impossible though. Good Luck.
