I bet it never comes back. That shit aint coming back until covid is gone and thats a maybe.
Meh. 9/11 didn’t kill it so I doubt this will. But it will be a while before it’s backI bet it never comes back.
Why would they kill the program? Didn’t they just sink money into semi automating the request process?I bet it never comes back.
Cus some office person gets mad that controllers can fly for free. There’s no reason we shouldn’t just be in CASS all the time like FAA inspectorsWhy would they kill the program? Didn’t they just sink money into semi automating the request process?
We are in CASS. They added all of us in a few years ago instead of doing it on a case by case basis.Cus some office person gets mad that controllers can fly for free. There’s no reason we shouldn’t just be in CASS all the time like FAA inspectors
I know but we can’t just show up to the gate and jump seat like everyone else in CASS canWe are in CASS. They added all of us in a few years ago instead of doing it on a case by case basis.
Apparently we can. I won’t say how I know that informationI know but we can’t just show up to the gate and jump seat like everyone else in CASS can
Does anyone know what the actual penalty would be for doing this? I have heard a range from termination, to just having your FDT privilege's revoked for a year. I would love to know not that I would risk it, I have so many credit card points banked for flights now since all my 2020 trips were cancelled. Also I think they will bring this program back, hopefully with less restrictions, if we can go back to regular schedules we should be able to go back to this.Apparently we can. I won’t say how I know that information
Majority of majors now require pilots to prelist using myidtravel.com. Alaska is last one to still allow walk up jump seat as far as I know. Not sure if controllers can use the myidtravel site or not. But I do know that most ticket agents will send you packing if you just walk up.Apparently we can. I won’t say how I know that information
For pilots, yes. That was created to decrease the work load of the gate agent. Depending on city pairs, there could be 30+ pilots trying to jump seat to/from work. (Most I ever saw working for United was 67 on PIT-ORD).Majority of majors now require pilots to prelist using myidtravel.com. Alaska is last one to still allow walk up jump seat as far as I know. I think this is up to the airlines... not the FAA or Natca. I cannot even visit my co-located facility...if we can go back to regular schedules we should be able to go back to this.
Pretty sure ppl are still jump seatingI think this is up to the airlines... not the FAA or Natca. I cannot even visit my co-located facility...
Can confirm that most airlines are still allowing their pilots to jump seat.Pretty sure ppl are still jump seating
A lot of pilots still have to commute, I can’t imagine they could operate without allowing it.Can confirm that most airlines are still allowing their pilots to jump seat.
