New academy track

Idk where else to post this but supposedly they introduced a new track at academy called IQTR and it includes RTF and TSEW. Graduates will select from a list of 8/9 up/downs and other stand alone TRACONS. First class starts in December.
I think that would be a positive change. They should look at the ERR demand sheet and let anyone who scores an 85 or higher go to the less desirable 8s. Places that have fewer than 10 inbound ERRs on file. ANC, VNY, ICT, OAK, ORF, OKC, etc.... I think they should also run new hire RTF classes and send them to JCF, A11, U90, R90, AZO, and Y90.
I should start charging for my ideas instead on how to fix this broken system instead of just giving them out for free, especially considering how lucrative consulting gigs can be. I got plenty more where that came from.

This will absolutely screw the current CPCs at level 7 and below that are already stuck. This is depressing at this point.

Serious question, can I quit and get hire on an off the street bid and go through the academy? Haha

The difference being they won't apply logic to the process and you'll see new hires going to the more desirable spots, as is tradition.

Low level up/down controllers continue to be sacrificial lamb for these changes. Don't worry about their careers just keep them in a black hole.

This shit is why we need to renegotiate tying facility pay levels to the actual AT pay band as promotion/demotion respectively.

The agency wants to do things like IQTR because releasing CPCs for movement creates two trainees in the NAS so they deny what SHOULD be considered career progression.

All in all I don’t think HR is accounting for the CPC resignations for those who continue to grow tired of the bullshit.

Is it liable for a lawsuit for denying career progression?

This is precisely why we will never be able to “train ourselves out of the staffing problem” if something doesn’t change. When the CPCIT count is equivalent to CPC separations and CPC losses to management combined, it’s pretty clear what the issue is.

It’s hard to pump numbers up when we are just shuffling the deck without adding cards. That’s the hard to swallow truth.

Losing CPCs to management will keep growing. It is becoming the only way to get out. Facilities will deviate and take away from the floor in house.

This all could have been avoided had the FAA/NATCA logically implemented a 3 level cap with NCEPT. 8-9's have been horribly neglected this entire time as people can jump from 4-5's to 11-12's at will. I work at a critically staffed 9 and our staffing outlook is dismal. We've been asking for academy grads for years. Hopefully this helps.

Found the supe

Just because you don’t agree doesn’t make them a sup. I am all about level caps and not screwing over the higher seniority and more experienced controllers stuck at the 8-9 and maybe 10s. I don’t think seniority should be the the deciding factor of who gets to move but it should play a part. Why does it only affect bidding? Otherwise it means jack shit.

The worst controllers are usually senior loopholers who screw the rest of the shift and dodge traffic. Seniority is a union scam to keep dues coming in.

I hardly agree seniority means they're more deserving.

Not good time though and I don't want to be here a day longer than necessary.

Time as a 2152 is good time. I think he's referencing the 6% raises when you transfer facilities within the pay band that you can stack.
