I also believe the PCT is now a type 2 (TRACON, not combined TRACON) and is a level 12 because of it. I was just looking it up on the TCIP link on that aap.faa.gov website.

When you're at work, go to the website and you can see what I mean. I believe a round of facility upgrades just occurred.

My uninformed opinion is this makes sense and will comply with the new CBA. Seems the FAA is going from eight ATC type facilities to just five. You can see this from the old and new Appendices A (Complexity Formula for Pay Setting).

Old:
1. Tower w/o Radar.
2. Non-radar Approach and Tower w/o Radar.
3. Tower w/ Radar.
4. Radar Approach and Tower w/ Radar.
5. TRACON.
6. CCF.
7. Combined TRACON.
8. Centers.

New:
1. Tower.
2. Approach Control.
3. Tower and Approach.
4. CCF.
5. Centers.

Depends what you're comparing it to I guess. But Northern Virginia certainly ain't cheap. The controllers there live all over

Can anyone who works here describe the working hours on average per week? Is it any worse or better than similar locations?

What do you mean specifically? The normal schedule (for my area at least) is:
Monday 3-11
Tuesday 1:30-9:30
Wednesday: 6:30-2:30
Thursday: 5:30-1:30, Mid 10-6

40 hour work weeks no crazy overtime amounts. You can get over 100 hours of OT if you want it, or none at all. But as NOVA said above, standard scheduling.

Does that mean you don't work Friday through Sunday?
