Terminal 12/14/18

I'm trying to decide between Anatole or Kim's place

IB is also on the radar now that they've offered a $45 special

Stay at Kim’s! You can’t beat the rate, and service porovided...ie toilet paper, cleaner, cable and internet. The big thing is the comrodre that you get with a lot of students that are living there. Her board is always has posts with passing along study materials such as a table top for academy airport.

But if you want your privacy Anatole is the best option. I’ve heard to many bad experiences from other students that were living at IB so I can’t recommend that.

But good Luck to you all!

This basics class is going to be a test class, or "first course conduct" in FAA-speak, for a new Blackboard based curriculum.
Instead of the normal terminal basics having a course number of 50043, this one is 50045001. It's also 8 days shorter than the traditional instructor-led basics course. There will be an instructor around to answer questions, but basically all the learning is going to be computer based.

Interesting. Does that mean this class will be Pass/Pass until they validate it? Not that many people generally fail Basics anyway.

That sounds brutally boring! Like CBI hell

I think it will have to be pass/pass.
It feeds into a tower class, but that is not pass/pass. Which will be very interesting when evals come around and some students fail. They would have a very good argument for being passed through or just brought back for another tower class.
Although maybe that tower class will be pass/pass, and it's all being kept a secret for now.

For individuals that went to training 12/14/18, where did you guys end up staying? Any complaints?
I’m in the 01/14/19 terminal class Basics, looking at my options.

Aside from computer based basic courses, I would like to mention some other big news.

Placement will now Include OCONUS facilities as an extra choice. for example - 10 people pass = 10 offered facilities (contiguous states) + ANY oconus facility in need of a trainee.

Its my understanding that previously, you had to ask for a oconus location and if available they add it to the list. they got tired of people asking.

That’s been happening for at least about two months from what the guy in Placement told my class. We had 2 OCONUS “Alternates” on our list back at the end of November.

Was this class the one that was restarted post-shutdown? Saw a few facilities earmarked on the Terminal Placement List for a graduating class early January before the shutdown ended, and the list hasn't been updated post-shutdown yet with the same information, and just wondering how far along the classes are now.
