There's been one class go through tetra, and one person went to N90 from it.Anyone just finish TETRA or started training at N90? If so, how was TETRA as well as getting started in NY?

How many in the class, do you know? 15 or so?There's been one class go through tetra, and one person went to N90 from it.
Class of 8. First test class that was assigned level 8-9 tracons. If they passed tetra they had the opportunity to change to N90. One took the offer. How many in the class, do you know? 15 or so?

Got ya. Didn’t know that’s how they were working this first classClass of 8. First test class that was assigned level 8-9 tracons. If they passed tetra they had the opportunity to change to N90. One took the offer.
Another class finishes up May 16th. I'm not sure if they're the same as the first class that already finished where they've been assigned other tracons and have the chance to go to N90 if they pass, or if they're the first all N90 full class which I know is currently in some OKC class on the tetra-path.Got ya. Sounds like JFK area is where I'd want to be then!He showed up last week. I'd ask him about it but got assigned to JFK so no one will ever see him again. They all work in their own little world.
Almost makes me want to put in for there. I’m trying to get back to ATL but getting to N90 I may never leave it.Another class finishes up May 16th. Heard also, the first two classes were Pass/Pass, and basically were the most minimal exp. they could get there hands on to see how they do. When they start full N90 it will change to Pass/Fail. Basically first two classes are lucky as hell. They are the same as the first class, all assigned lower level facilities. 4x Salt Lake, 3x P31, 1x A11, 1x M03 I think. We had a group meeting with both classes and the N90 ATM. None of them seemed like they had any interest in N90. The class after them is the first full N90 class though.
Lucky is a word I guess. We were the guinea pigs for them to test the class on and validate it. In exchange for the being the first/second course conduct on an unvalidated course they guaranteed us lower level facilities with the option of N90 if we got a 'passing' score. Everyone in my class was tower only experience (4+ years) because the goal is to see how someone with no radar exp can handle the course, since the overall goal was potentially to take an OTS person all the way through and send them to N90. And yes, after the course is validated it will be pass/fail.
Is it a 4 post feed? I've heard it's based on n90 airspace but then I've heard it's a 4 post feed and we don't have anything remotely resembling that.
Rtf is just meant to teach the rules, not how to handle trafficIn TETRA it's 6 feeds, and only one downwind. There's the 4 posts, straight ins, and departures off a satellite airport. All the inbounds from the west and satellite departures consolidate into the north downwind, then the base posts, and straight ins.
RTF is nothing compared to TSEW and TETRA. It's really not a preparation for either course.
Where are some good places to live on the Island?
