Filing grievances/EEO? Should I?

Hey everyone… So I went through the training program as a CPC-IT at my current facility and I checked out. The problem however was I went through hell in training and I experienced multiple instances of discrimination against me specifically from 3 individuals including an OS and an OM.

I’ve been done for a while now but I’m just thinking about the fact that these individuals are going to get away with that type of behavior and most likely do it again in the future with other people. There are so many people that abuse their power and I was definitely one of their victims. I don’t want to get into detail but I have a ton of stuff I’ve written up keeping track of the constant disrespect and unfairness I received.

My question is should I file this EEO/grievance or will I be basically black balling myself? What do you guys think? I honestly don’t want to cause any problems but it sucks knowing this behavior goes unpunished. I’m also afraid of any backlash I might get. What’s the worst thing that can happen to me? The FAA can’t reassign me can they? Any thoughts?

If there’s some kind of reassignment you want and your experience is valid then go for it. A valid EEO can advance you fast. This agency is suffocated by liability. If you want to stay where you are it’ll probably just make all of local management terrified to get involved with you.

Grievance prolly won’t get you anywhere. EEO has to be filed no more than a certain number of days after the discrimination. Sounds like you might be outside of that timeframe.

If you've got a legit EEO case go for it, like someone else said get your own lawyer do NOT go through natca or the FAA. A bona fide EEO judgement and settlement can easily be in excess of what the average ATC earns in their entire career.
It’s not sexual in nature but definitely got treated like dirt while others weren’t. It was very noticeable to the point other controllers would confront me and tell me they have no idea why I’m being treated this way. Most of the excuses were “you’re treated differently because you’re held to a higher standard as a CPC transfer”. I mean my OM told me he was going to fire my ass… joking or not during training that’s not cool.

I don’t want to rub anyone the wrong way and I want to stay here it just sucks that people can just say and do whatever they want and get away with it ya know?

Isn’t it sad we exist in the culture where the first comment is, just let it go? If true, I wouldn’t want to work with people who I felt just legitimately harassed me.
That's all the controllers do at my facility. Complain about trainees to each other and yell at trainees for not knowing something they were never told. The best part is when they train you wrong and then the supervisor yells at you for doing things wrong. Fuck the FAA and fuck all of you assholes. Harassment and incompetence is the way of life here.

there is a time limit, i think its 45 or 90 days from when it happened. If its past behavior in the long ago, its not actionable.

False
The time limit is for the FAA's EEOC board which is only a truth finding fact seeking committee.
If you felt intimidated while you were training, or mentioned it to your supervisor and they didn't do anything, or it happened after you asked the person to stop, then that extends it.

GET A REPRESENTATIVE/LAWYER for this page. The agency will bury and move you

Does a supervisor threatening to get you fired if you ask for more hours or a different training team at a TRB count as hostile? Can u do anything about it?

This is the exact attitude that keeps facilities toxic, morale low, and in staffing low at those toxic facilities. I say hold them accountable, and flush the sheeeet out of the facility.
when I say let it go, let it go because you certified. but as a CPC - make change. A select few people at my facility were like that when I was in training. As a trainee you have to just take it & it’s too late to complain after you certified IMO but I swore to myself if I ever get a trainee I’d do it better. Then again there is only so much you can do. I’m all for changing it up & making it a better work environment for everyone. ESP since coming from a contract tower which was like family & we had a great time everyday.

I remind the fucker who didn’t certify me when I was ready of it all the time. Eat shit for costing me time and money.
