For 6 days now, various sources have mentioned a pay raise at the trade of retirement age / retirement contributions.
This seems to have sprung to life after NIW.
Is this one bored controller spreading shit from NIW? Did a 114'er in the know let something slip ?
This is all variations from about 10 people now that range from 15-25% but the same retirement adjustment.

As an internet troll and aviation enthusiast...
1-Seems like there's are talks about people taking retirement as soon as they are eligible-you can see this in the controller workforce plan. I think this is just a generational thing where people would actually rather take care of their family than be at work.
2-life expectancy and medical treatments are getting better. There is chatter about forced 56 retirement. A smart senator would have us work until 62 and also destroy the social security supplement while they are at. "You also lose x amount of hp for every mid you work"
3-Rinaldi and Tim Arel and navcanada (canada) and airways (swedish? private atcs) are all best friends. We will probably see the last generation (people starting now) of public sector atc. This was on linkedin from a latest conference.
4-The union (that supported privatization btw) is still the same people. Maybe it's not Paul and Trish but all the facreps that supported it have now crept into the leadership positions. There isn't really any fight left and morale seems low at the facilities I know of...some people are wishing management would go back to white book (Vaccines, a114, scams etc)
All this stuff mixed with the union pushing for equipment creates a prime environment for a private takeover. The union wants 'stable funding' (2017ish privatization push) and is currently fighting for equipment.
So the nuts and bolts is that there has been talk of a raise as an initial way to garner support for privatization....and then brace for the rug pull where you have to move to a supercenter in North Dakota or Oklahoma and take a 100k paycut. They will give controllers the opportunity to take a side or be "grandfathered in"
What are the odds of ALL of this playing out? I don't know. The more midairs, fistfights, etc the more talk about it comes up. I would guess the authenticity of the reddit 'leaks' is 30%. I would guess the chance of privatization before 2050 to be 50/50, I would guess the chance of us getting a raise to be low. They readjusted the paybands in (2011?) so it is time but when half the nas leaves an hour early and spends 4 hours shitposting on breaks it's just tough to garnish public support
