Airservices Australia Recruiting Initiative

For those who've applied, could you give me some insight on what they're looking for in the application. They want evidence of initial Training Certificate for first Licence attained, and evidence of any further Ratings/Endorsements. I've got an old CTO card and my Credentials card. Is this all they're after, or do I need something else?
Evidence of English Language Proficience: do they want me to submit an essay, or something?

Aviation medical: who do I ask/where do I go to get this?

Thanks!
I scanned like two or three of my old CTOs and a paper I found with my current cto ratings.

They emailed me back and told me that my passport will suffice for the English proficiency part as a scan.

Reached out to my RFS for the medical. They yelled at me and gave me a different email to use. That one resulted in the full medical exam from the doctor. When I reached out to the new contact he gave me they just sent me a medical certificate saying I am cleared to work as a controller.

What's the correct email to use then?

It’s still baffling to me this career is so bad in the USA people are willing to relocate all the way around the world to do the same job. How many people do we need to lose before the FAA steps in so do something about it?
I think it’s mostly the post covid world overall has changed, and not for the better. People are looking for an escape

I know there are probably several reasons people would leave. Before I became an ATC I envisioned it being a final career destination for most. Hard to believe there are people willing to leave, but that is the current state of affairs.

Yep, when I started I felt like I hit the jackpot. In a way I still do feel that way, govt work is a long grind to a pension. It’s just our reality, but it can drive some people nuts and they can’t handle it. It’s not for everyone and that’s ok too.

Hopefully greener grass is on the horizon for our career. I’m conservatively optimistic

I dunno if I'm supposed to say but they pay more for Sydney
It is a little more but I feel like it’s wiped with cost of living. Think it’s maybe 26k AUS? Step 8 when certified for me but 10 in Sydney. I don’t know how they pay increase structure works beyond step 10 or yearly increases to know if that 26K is gonna make a difference after a decade or if the Melbourne guys would catch up after two years while yall stay maxed at step 10.

I agree and I'm optimistic that it has to get better sooner or later.

But I'd say what is driving most people "nuts" is the stagnant wages while having to spend more time at work and work more traffic with less. Also add to it that there have been attacks on our benefits and pension recently. So it's not surprising that people are jumping ship to another country offering an insanely improved quality of life and equal or close to equal pay, it is surprising that people have to move completely around the world for that though. Meanwhile NATCA is silent about what members want/need most and what is driving people to move to Australia....PAY

I’m not. Without a second academy there no way they can reach the hiring goals they need. OKC has been max hiring and max classes since late 2014. they blame “covid” but it already wasn’t going to be enough. It hasn’t ever been enough in over a decade of doing it. Without more capacity at OKC or a 2nd academy nothing is going to get better bc they don’t have enough seats. Just a fact. They need to be hiring 4K a year, not 1800. Maybe 1/3 make it through to cpc, no?

Bonuses are the only way they have to encourage people to stay. When not enough take it, and hiring is below the goals needed, they will start making 56 the rule. Laws can and will be changed bc in about 3-4 years almost 1/3 of the workforce becomes retirement eligible and statistically 80% retire within 12 months of reaching eligibility. No organization in the world can have that much turnover and be healthy. And no way they stand by idley as 25% of the workforce bounces with no replacement

Yeah I'm not exactly sure, the way I look at it is it's more money than I make right now and I get to live in a world class city. I wanted Melbourne when I applied so.im excited I'll be able to afford a home after a few years
