It varies but the consensus is 4-6 months. Depends on training backlog and the center. Some people go to a center and they don’t start classroom until after a few months of being ghost pilots for the other trainees.
There are multiple variables at play there:
- What type of facility are you going to
- How long is classroom
- How many positions do you need to certify on
- How many people are you going to be sharing training time with
- How well are you grasping the position(s) ie. are you going to be a quick checkout or are you struggling.

Did anyone else's medical email come after the 21 day mark? I'm on day 22 and i emailed them at the 14 day mark and they said i would get it in the next week but have not received anything. I also emailed them yesterday morning on the 21 day mark with no response.

I emailed them on day 21 and they told me to allow 2 more weeks. I ended up getting the email on day 27.
I'm on day 22 and haven't received anything. I just sent them an email asking whats up.

I emailed them yesterday and someone from NY emailed me this morning, asking for clarification for some pain meds I was prescribed. So I can only assume I’m close to the end.
Got my call today and the FOL!! Originally offered 3/21 but asked for a later date and was given 6/12. Im OTS enroute and my hr was BO but I was switched to JA literally just for the FOL. I’m an OKC native so won’t have to move anywhere.

Too bad front line managers no longer exist...
We’re you notified when your medical or anything was cleared? I’m roughly on the same timeline with everything completed and have my security Clearance but I had to ask about that. Just waiting on a date as of now.

I'm dealing with the same rep(s) and pushing my date back to June as well. I was told to call back at the end of April to get a June date. Now i'm wondering if I can go ahead and bug JA now...
Were you really offered 3/21? 5 days after your medical and drug test?
Sorry, should’ve been 5/21. I’m getting married in October which is why I asked for a later date. Just wasn’t expecting this to go so quick!

If you're getting married in October wouldn't you want an eariear date to be done with the Academy at settled at your facility (hopefully) before the wedding?
