Just got an FOL for this date. Haven't sorted out housing yet, looking to room with other people in my class.

This is for the N90 specific OTS bid.

I probably put the wrong prefix. I just saw that the other TRACON N90 classes were classified as RTF so i put that down. I applied to the N90 specific local OTS bid.

Congratulations on the pick up. Have you visited the facility? Do that before you go. I am 15+ yrs and am headed out this summer. I went through the same classes you will go through.

My advice would be to have the most professional reaction to the instructors you can have. The way they get on you can bring you down if you are not use to it. Also, if you are called out for not knowing a radar rule, dont try to talk your way outta it. Just say "I dont know" and ask for help. These are 2 things we see in the Training environment and which can hamper the learning.

RTF is like drinking water through a firehouse. But in TESEW and TETRA they break everything down you learned in RTF. Plus you will find the instructors in those classes more professional than in RTF. Couple of them will be lifelong friends of mine.

Look at Kims place to stay. When I was in OKC this summer I stayed at Isolla Bella which I enjoyed. But most OTS peeps were at Kim's. Which was good for them because you need to work together and help each other out to get through the classes successfully.

Give your 110% every day. Your brain may feel like its going to explode but that will pass quickly. Eye on the prize and look forward to seeing you at N90.

Also, dont listen to anyone that tries to put N90 in the dirt. There are a lot of opinions across the nation about the facility, and most are from people that have no idea what is currently happening there.

When did you certify on local? I’ve been certified over a month and still haven’t got a class date. Was hoping to get in earlier than July.
Yeah I finished the tower a few weeks ago and I’m in the same boat. They don’t know any info but hoping to see something soon. I’m really hoping before EAA.

I really appreciate the advice, especially coming from someone who is working at N90. I'm currently at University so I'm unable to visit, but I plan on visiting this summer. I'm looking forward to working there in November.

I may have misspoken. Not at N90 yet. My first day there will be in June. But you will find some N90 peeps on here that have the first hand knowledge of what's going on there.

Did your FOL show how much you'll make once you're at n90? I heard OTS will get d1 pay once they arrive.

Just looked at the FOL email, and it says upon completing training I'll be making $39,115 BASE , Locality 32.13%, and Adjusted pay is $51,683. It's actually less that what the "pay chart" on here is for AG.

Source? I've not heard this, and I know at least one person there now who's making AG while he waits to class up, so I'm sure that would be news to him.

The number on your FOL doesn't account for the 10% facility CIP that you'll get when you arrive, which makes it 55k-ish.

OTS definitely does not make D1 when they arrive, or even check out on data. At this point with how far out their class dates are at the facility you will be AG pay for 2 years minimum

Do you still know anyone at N90 that I can reach out to, in order to visit the facility? I received a TOL for the OTS bid and tried to schedule a tour but they said they no longer offer them.
