General Questions

Brother, let’s not overthink this. When a facility can select people, the ATM (or usually the NATCA Rep) gets the list of people who applied and ranks them one through whatever in order of the receiving facilities preference. The NCEPT panel will then give that facility the highest ranked people that are still available on their list (unless dynamic decisions are made at the table). When the paperwork was submitted is not considered. Now if you had multiple people from the same departing facility, both SELECTED to the same receiving, only then would paperwork submission dates come into play to see which person would be offered to leave first.

Do you have any tips for the peeps on how to get ranked high on a facility's ranking list? Some ppl think you dress up in Brooks Brothers and go in w 2 dozen donuts and have a secret handshake w the ATM and bring a copy of your mostly fluffed up resume too. Does this still work in 2019!? I'd prefer to just sweet talk the RVP on the NCEPT panel itself. That's a big prob tho when one of them is so Southie gangsta. Red Sox rule kid! Wicked pissah!

Networking they say is the best, but you need to make a good impression. I was told by a Fac Rep once that they actually significantly dropped a guy from my facility who visited because he came off so bad (and somehow this dude caught selected anyway, lots of people ranked above him must have been gobbled up by higher priority facilities like PIT). Or the nepotism thing, this is how a 3 months CPC from a level five up/down often is #1 on the ranking list at a place like NCT or ZDV or wherever.

It's all about who you know. Visit, shake hands with the rep, and show interest in being there. Managers and NATCA usually collaborate over who gets selected but there's no rhyme or reason to who makes the top of the list. It's at their discretion completely of who they select. I would advise against being too pushy as well. Don't be that guy calling your desired facility every week asking about NCEPT. We're all waiting for our turn man.

I can't get over the fact that numbers are being posted on the NCEPT site that don't reflect the changes in calculation. Either they posted these numbers knowing they were incorrect or the system changed greatly and they did not update the numbers even though they are the main resource employees have. Either way is inexcusable.

Telecon I was on they said that the PPTs will remain unchanged until the day prior to the "great NCEPT draft of Sep 2019". Rather s***** thing to do. So, put in for where you want to go, call the reps and play the game. Let those dice roll and pray for no whammy.

The problem is my facility is all of a sudden not eligible for this great draft because of the AOB numbers. My coworkers think we can let someone go because of the PPT though.

Crap situation. Just show them this panels rules. AOB 85% and projected over 85% staffing. Should be up on the KSN site.

Anyone see a significant change to those about 11 facilities that are projected under 85% when they pull those final numbers or no?

There are only 19 facilities that are at or below 85% projected and have a ratio of DEV/controllers less than 30%. L30, ALO, SCT, SCK,BUR, SNA, DCA, LGA,A80, DEN, NCT,BOS,MIA, ORD, M98,PHL, CVG, JFK, C90.

these are the facilities that pick up first this go around.

If a facility is projected at like 84.9% will they only pick 1 up or will they just get their whole "gains to target/national average" number?
