Best RDOs for 2020

Thursday Friday gets you Thanksgiving (obviously) and Christmas this year.

No such thing! Fri/Sat & Sat/Sun are always the best days off no matter the year. All depends how important Sunday pay is to you. Mon/Tue w the mid is a close 2nd. If you are really bidding a crew based on how holidays fall on the Calendar, good grief! You obviously don't understand how to properly use sick leave so shame on you for being a nooooob

Ew. Saturday night mid is brutal.

Question I can't find in the history. A lot of ppl talk about the schedule being one of the less like aspects of this job because you can work so many different hours etc... Was there ever a time where schedules were concrete? Like a day shift or night shift or mid instead of everyone doing a little of each one?

Yeah some facilities have weeks of straight days, straight nights, all overnights, etc..... Generally those lines are limited and you have to have decent seniority to get them.

I was just thinking in comparison to other jobs with tough schedules or shift work. Seems crazy that a job that requires so much attn would fuck with a sleep schedule. Having a mil background, I know the govt doesnt operate on common sense, but it was something that seemed so obvious to me lol

My facility you do a week of days and a week of swings alternating, and maybe every 6-8 weeks one of your day weeks is mid shift. But you can usually swap out of those pretty easily. I haven’t worked a Mid in months.

i don’t think it’s the government making us work this schedule. The members like more time off some natca asks for it.
