The woeful unpreparedness of Management

Where's Phillyman with the JFK update?
Getting tested tomorrow. Well, attempting to get tested.

Whoever from management (who definitely doesnt have a conflict of interest) that had the conversation with the Public Health Official from the CDC argued that we "did not have close enough contact with the afflicted individual to pose a serious risk."

Sharing a common kitchen area and the operations area, not to mention touching the equipment and interacting with common denominators, is not "close enough contact."

The agency is getting pretty damn close to criminal negligence. This is absurd

if you look at the Federal governments response to this crisis as a whole it’s not that surprising that individual agencies are also struggling to respond appropriately.
How can you blame the agencies. I bet they are getting 0 guidance on what to do.

You basically just reiterated my point but to go further the FAA is part of the executive branch and it’s leaders are chosen by them. It’s all one and the same.

But people think like our organization can like just send home all the workers. They gotta get it authorized.

Not sure how you plan on getting tested, but if you need doctor approval, I'd try to tell them that not only were you exposed, but use the fact that you're potentially putting a couple hundred other vital federal employees at risk as well. Could the guy himself not try to do this, too, separately?

Idk about you but my manager seems to think this isn’t a huge deal and we should operate business as usual. People like that don’t give me faith that management between me and the administrator would do any different.

You guys don't think FAA managers should double as amateur epidemiologists to lobby for facilities to stay open regardless of the risk? Pshhhh. They're the manager, in charge, they KNOW THINGS. right? They know BEST. If we had that kind of portfolio we would be managers. But no, we are not that high of a skill set we are just bottom dwellers. Managers know when buildings are safe. They know to always lobby to stay open. They have great wisdom. Thennnnnn, when you die: they always have deniability to blame the one above them. Don't underestimate what has been accomplished in this world under the guise of "just following orders". Cheers to management, truly the wise ones among us. They're almost ALL capped out for a reason!

Yah they said that then they send home 40 people within 2 seconds once they got the new company line. They just do what they are told and it goes all the way up to mrs Moscow Mitch

Facility’s are interpreting the new guidance differently. Some centers sent more people home than just FD. Some didn’t. Some towers sent more people home than FD. Some didn’t. The facility obviously has some leeway to how they apply it.
