Just read that New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut are requiring a 14 day quarantine for people traveling from high infected states or states on the rise. I think right now it includes nine states. This is not good news for air travel.

It’s great news if it’s a neighboring state and you “need” to visit right before you are recalled......

I’ll be back in the building in a few days. Guess it’s time to cut my hair and shave, starting to look like Sasquatch over here.

I think one of the biggest questions at this point is: is the union so absorbed in maintaining the reduced staffing schedule for as long as possible/at any cost they’re simply unaware of the long-term financial impact on trainees, or do they just not care? Either way, we’re going on 4 months of a nation wide training stoppage. Between lost raises/wages, TSP contributions, not to mention differential/OT earnings potential, each trainee is missing out on tens of thousands of dollars over the course of their careers that can never be recovered. And there hasn’t been so much as a “sorry, we know how difficult this is” from the solidarity club.
I absolutely agree with this. However, to play devil's advocate here, the only argument I could imagine them needing is "well, there's no guarantee they would have certified anyway". I believe it's a semi-valid argument, though we just counter with "there's no guarantee we would have failed either". Whether they care or not, I doubt it will even be part of NATCA's reasoning for keeping us away or bringing us back.

We pay the same percentage as everyone else. And they are literally negotiating against our interests.

Back pay... wtf are you smoking.
The problem with performance raises in the contract is you can’t get them if you can’t train. People certified during the gov shutdown and got all their back pay after the fact. I’m not hurting much on d2 but I absolutely feel for the guys in AG that in many cases took pay cuts to make a career change. They have no way to get out of AG pay.

You should at least get d1 after 1 year post academy. AG is not meant to be a long term pay band and isn’t feasible in a lot of places

Is the safety of the workforce and the ability to not potentially lose 100% of the staffing, at a facility due to a COVID outbreak, more important or the potential financial benefits of a few hundred employees? People waited years to get into the academy and you guys are complaining about the union taking the safety option available to help prevent the BUEs from getting sick and/or dying. Next thing you’re going to say is you should be allowed to sue your training team for not recommending you quicker due to financial losses or some other crap. It’s been FOUR months! WOW!!! Also, those people saying, while the traffic levels are significantly reduced across the board, crap like but “...my level 6 up/down is super busy...” It’s a 6 up/down, it isn’t busy.

It’s 4 months of however long. No one is providing information of an end game.

If facilities are starting E Learning, I’d assume trainees are back by the beginning of August. But again...
Is the medical safety of all more important or the financial benefits of a few hundred?

Come on dude, this is not about safety at this point and you know it. If it really was about COVID, then every CPC would be hunkered down at home, getting everything delivered and not interacting with anyone during their 5 or 10 off. That is absolutely not what’s happening.
Those are personal choices to expose or not expose yourself to risk. No different than speeding while it is pouring down raining. The individual is deciding to introduce more risk based on their decisions. People make decisions based on their own risk tolerances and mine are to do everything I can to not get COVID and potentially die.

It’s not a few hundred. It’s 25% of the workforce and the union. If the faa was doing this it’s one thing but it’s the people that our supposed to represent our interest that seems to be pushing it.
