Posted this over on StuckMic too:
Anyone know if the CTO exam is still given at the Academy, or later at your facility? I'm slotted for Terminal Basics in late August, and I have a passing CTO grade on file, and a non-current CTO/facility rating from school (c. 2014).
I was under the impression CTOs weren't issued anymore in lieu of new Air Traffic Control Specialist certificates (at least within the FAA). I'm interested to know how relevant the questions in my old CTO Study Guide are. If the block test questions at the Academy are pulled from the same question pool, it's definitely worth looking over before I head to OKC.
The booklet is titled: FAA Academy Training - Control Tower Operator (CTO) Study Guide - Tower Cab Training Section - Study Guide - (TS-14-1). Cover has a King Air BE-10 overflying a tower on it. About 500 questions inside. Do they still give these out in OKC?
