If you know this MIA Controller/SUP...

Gotta be honest, I don't know why this merits a reaction video.

I mean I understand why the guy made the video, "money." But this does not seem like a big huge deal. Nobody got called any names, nobody got sent to the penalty box unnecessarily. Yeah, the controller could have listened a little better and communicated a little clearer. Now he knows for next time. Don't see why he needs to be blasted on youtube about it.

Why is this guy wearing a pilot costume in his little studio? This is a non event. Definitely doesn’t warrant a 10 minute reaction video this dude is a money grabbing weirdo

Exactly this seems like a simple misunderstanding on a busy night and these weirdos are blowing out of proportion

He’s not even an active pilot anymore. This dude retired from American like a year ago but still posts these “reaction” videos in his fake uniform all the time where he often criticizes ATC.

I guess making like $500K to take one flight a month as a 777 captain wasn’t enough money. Gotta make “content” where you shit on controllers who are making a fraction of what you did, working 10x harder, for non-issues.

Level of competence seems to be commensurate with today's salaries. Want better people? Pay more.

Crazy that the CPC payscale at MIA starts at $162k - a very busy facility where you're dealing with tons of foreign pilots, required to work both tower + tracon, and the COL is very high. I'm not a tower controller but the airfield/runway/taxiway layout doesn't exactly look trivial either. Overall seems like every high level FL facility is shafted.

Of the aviation influencers this guy is the absolute worst.

On a pilot forum I partake in all the airline pilots always clown on this guy and think his takes are generally terrible. His viewership is avgeeks not people actually involved in aviation

Controllers do plenty of things wrong but I could do a YouTube playback of the dumb shit I see professional pilots do all the time. We’re on the same team. I don’t need to brasher every single mistake. I’m also sick of getting shit on and the condescending tones on frequency.
To be fair, there are a lot of videos where the pilots fuck up.

Something I think is overlooked quite often is the fact that not every pilot is a professional pilot, but every controller is a professional controller that has to deal with the full spectrum of people on frequency. It’s hard enough when the airline pilots are fucking up. Now mix in a half dozen or more idiots in BE36’s or SR22’s that only fly once a month for fun but want full service and it’s a shit show to manage.

While a controller might sound “impatient” with a carrier pilot like in this example video, he could be dealing with some moron on another frequency that was told to stand by, but still just immediately starts rattling off a bunch of shit in his ear. There’s no time to be babysitting pilots who get paid a half million dollars a year who should know better. Now mix that in with 6 day work weeks, 10 hour days, and pay that hasn’t kept up with inflation in decades and what the fuck do these people expect?
