In these positions you should be trying to take big swings and tackling problems especially when they are all so glaring. Scoring a field goal in garbage time is useless when we needed touchdowns to win earlier in the game. If Rich were to win I hope he does better with a 2nd term but I’m hoping we just go to start with a new direction and Nick does a better job. Regardless of who has the role, membership should be more vocal in demanding more from them and not just getting “NEB meeting” updates from Hawaii.

That’s fine and all Nick has said the contract will be extended so what are you thinking he’ll do after that?

I’m looking through my emails to find one where Nick said he wants to extend the contract and I can’t. Do you have a campaign link to this information? If Harris wins then whoever is top of the union should jump all over negotiating, then again Rich didn’t do anything with a “pro union” administration in his time either.

Here’s from the NEB meeting minutes:

RVP Daniels then moved that, absent the ability to delay a decision, that the NATCA President will seek to extend the Slate Book until 2029, with the ability to reopen the CBA in 2026 by mutual agreement, with RVP MacQueen, RVP Shallenberger, RVP Devine, and EVP LeBovidge voting in opposition.

Explain to me what you think could have been done when our contract was extended outside of what he did.

Nick was an RVP what ideas did he propose to get us anything during his term? None he was out partying on yachts and the fuel bar.

Want to know how much leave Nick used travelling the country to campaign? 0

He’s in it for himself.

So Nick hasn’t actually said his priority as the next NATCA president is to extend the contract right? Voting at NEB meeting is what we are going off? If Nick comes out and says he has no plans as NATCA President to open negotiations then I would likely not vote for him. But voting for Rich, who has had the role for 3 years with minimal improvements, doesn’t make sense. I understand he got us more OJTI pay but thats really not at the top of the list of issues. We are all working record levels of OT and the agency gets unrestrained use of OT in-lieu of hiring more controllers. When i’m at work on my 6th day instead of with my family the last thing I’m thinking is “thank you rich for the extra OJTI pay”. Why would I vote for the guy who has been incapable of fixing the biggest gripes and complaints of the workforce over his last 3 years on the job? It’s time for someone else to take a turn steering the ship.

Yea cause NATCA does the FAA’s hiring….can’t force them to hire but NATCA did get a change in working conditions for you starting in January. You’ll be getting every third weekend off.
Also Santa had to start his position after a Rinaldi/Trish extension.

I believe you are correct he has said it. Move past that and Santa and Devine have heard the cries of the membership that people are fed up and on notice. I much rather give the guy who has the ability to adapt and listen vs one who spends 30k at Fuel Bar.

No no no if you say it once there’s no take backs! Like how Jamaal, said on tape, dies paying Natca members are Natca welfare facilities. Like how Nick spent 53,000$ on a yacht for a few hours, those locals would need 17.5 years of dues reimbursements to do that. They should just budget better.

Was this before or after the Eastern Region and and others overwhelmingly voted to renegotiate. In the past couple weeks the eastern region leadership made it seem like it's inevitable and an extension wasn't the plan.

I understand you like Rich but no need to be patronizing. We can debate about who did what but the bottomline is if there were yacht parties or lavish parties all these people that are in NATCA leadership(NEB,VP,Pres,Local Reps) were complicit. Union dues go toward flying people to gods know where to “conduct business”. Similar to regular politics, the union is full of bloat and characters who expect to retain their positions by barely performing and benefitting themselves first and foremost.

I was originally a Justin Dailey supporter because he was an outsider and didn’t fit the mold of these “career NATCA” folks. I think it’s utterly ridiculous to have the amount of people who get pulled off the boards to serve on NATCA details when we are having staffing crisis. I think it’s insane to see a NATCA president covering an open bar or doing a go fund me for a President who already enriched himself in office and got a nice “consulting” gig afterward. I don’t see overwhelmingly abundant leadership of high morale folks in NATCA who stand against these waste of resources. Creating a NEB meeting in Hawaii and folks flying their families out is bad optics when your membership are hurting staffing wise, especially in the age of ZOOM when meetings can be conducted anywhere or anytime.

I respect your loyalty to Rich Santa and I understand your positions on why he is better. Neither were my first choice but now we have to decide for the guy who we can judge off his years in the position already or going a new direction and believing the other candidate will do what they say they will. Everyone’s going to have their opinions but these are the guys we are stuck with. JD is out so now I and other supporters have to make a new choice.
 
You know what else Rich has on tape? The union just voted and Rich had less votes. Santa Claus isint real folks.
