NATCA Election Results

He shouldn’t have been using member funds to campaign
That's the part that looks bad to me is using a social gathering paid by member dues to launch your campaign and have a party essentially for that. I don't care about the yacht or dinner (even though there's definitely a lot of room to be more fiscally responsible with member dues), but don't use a NATCA paid for event for your personal gain.

I'm sure he didn't make the announcement until "after" the NATCA event was finished though 🙄

I, personally, gave up on NATCA when my ex wife left and took my kids to Mexico and I got zero support from them. FAA obviously denied my hardship. All the mean while, we had someone hardship to my facility and then go back to the same facility they hardshipped from as a supe less than a year later. All the meanwhile telling me to basically forget my kids and to move on. I don’t even care about all the BS on their financial abuse. They are all snakes. And not to be trusted with your best interests in mind. And I’ll always make that known. They never done right by me but are so quick to take my money and spend it on BS

Were you trying to hardship to Mexico?

Why shouldn't they be more judicious with dues money, especially since they haven't really gotten the bargaining unit any real raises since the red book? Why do we need to spend almost $200 a head so people can eat steak? You can get 1200 chicken fingers from Raising Cane's for $1600. Get em fries and drinks and spend 900 or so more. You can rent a hall for cheap as hell with tables and chairs.

If someone won't attend the convention because they can't eat prime rib, then fuck them. Spend your own fucking money. It's infuriating paying almost 3 grand a year to this union for a tshirt so they can get us zero return on investment while spending money on themselves like that.
Wingstop lets you order a whole fucking chicken coop lol for less than that even. The leadership shouldn’t be eating steak on yachts when austerity is the name of the game for line controllers. That money could have and should have been better spent. Lobbying, lawyers, literally anything. Fuck it, spend it paying people’s tickets so the locals don’t have to. For some locals that’s a huge expense, their biggest line item of the year.

Some unions refund excess to members

Probably asked for DFW or some other 100% manned facility. He likely refused to go to an undermanned facility/expand geographical location. There is more to this story then they're letting on because I've seen a similar situation (not Mexico though) get approved. This would have been an approval unless he denied it for some reason.

If there is one thing NATCA has done at the detriment of everyone else is get hardships approved.

Also, it's amusing a person that is likely an Article 114 NCEPT rep is on here defending Nick Daniels.

Nope. I asked for anywhere in the Phoenix or Tucson area. Even SDL or DVT. I was told to pound sand

So the FUCK what? It's the only way to transfer and we pay dues. The contract is clear on what's required.
I've heard union members and panelists decidi g if it's legit or not and blah blah. But the truth is that the union should 100% support EVERY SINGLE HARDSHIP. The union has no right to be on the panel with shalkenverger or whoever deciding.

What should happen
Contract requirements
FAA approves or denies.
Union takes them to court.

What happens
Agency misses deadlines, union members gossip and discuss specifics while deciding what they think. Somehow everyone in the facility finds out...somehow...
A 90 day process gets drug out into years of battling in the name of collaboration.

I don't give a shit if it's a scam we pay dues for our contract that says you need a few notes and a letter not for the bullshit it is

What a stupid take.

Nope I agree 100% that if you have everything noted and filed what you need to in accordance with the contract the FAA shouldn't be able to pick and choose which time they want to follow the contract.

If they think there is too much movement due to ERRs and they want that part of the contract changed then they can reopen the contract for negotiations and give us a raise. Otherwise use every part of the contract to your advantage and do what you need to for your own life cause the FAA doesn't give a fuck about you

So by that logic, if everyone applies to hardship to 10 facilites, they should get it no matter what. The FAA simply stops hardships to facilities that are 100% or more. I do not believe that dudes story, he's leaving out some key info because I know people that got their hardships approved with nearly identical circumstances.

List 5 agencies or private jobs that allow you to transfer to a position regardless of how many openings there are. Actually I dont care I'm not replying to this anymore because some of you are actively trying to lack common sense.

Yes if they meet all the requirements for a valid hardship that are laid out in the contract.

I also don't care about other agencies or jobs because we have stuff spelled out specifically in our contract for us.

And I thought they would give you the option for facilities under 100% staffed within a certain distance of the location you are trying to go and if there was only one lvl12 in the range then it didn't matter on the staffing. But I'm not sure on how all of it works

Making a hardship to a over staffed 12 when an understaffed 7 or 8 is right next door should probably not be allowed but idk

Yep, that's the game we're playing by the contract. It sucks seeing people hardship at a black hole facility because why does your family problem make your career better and mine worse? Same story with supervisor deviations, but it is what it is until the contract changes.

You guys are hilarious for argue about a make believe hardship request. Until the documentation and the denial is provided and shown, who knows what the truth is.

I wasn’t making fun of or belittling the hardship. There are facilities that may have worked to get them closer. If the kids were involuntarily taken to Ciudad Juarez, ELP would have made amazing sense as a landing spot, for example.
