Lol what policy have the dems even changed in the last 10 months

Sad Kristen Bell GIF

Everything bad right now is literally from acting like Covid wasn’t real for a year and also one semi conductor factory burning down.

It was really crazy how the world slept on semi conductor fabrication before now.

I already read that half of the inflation number is just gas prices rebounded. Does anyone know if that’s true?

It’s just Obamas 3rd term

Here are a couple for ya: surrender in Afghanistan, spending/runaway inflation, disaster from opening southern border, COVID confusion, kowtowing to China, giving in to Iran/rejoin Iran nuke deal, crippling our energy independence-canceled Keystone, canceled oil and gas exploration in the Arctic, recommitted to Paris Climate Accords while giving China a pass.

Ok so I’ll give you Afghanistan

Spending on What? Covid relief? they’ve passed 1 bill before the infrastructure bill

Covid confusion? The only people confused are those taking ivermectin

Crippling our energy independence? So we aren’t independent anymore cus a pipeline that never existed still doesn’t exist? A pipeline that was going to move Canadian oil?

Edit to add. I never understood why we want oil independence. If it’s a limited resource isn’t it smart to use their oil now and save our oil for later?

Doctors prescribed ivermentin. Why are you denying the experts in science?

Pipeline that went from Canada to US was shut down, but one from Middle East to Russia was allowed by POTUS - shame.

When Biden “campaigned” he said he wanted to get rid of “fossil fuels” - so production has been decreased due to stupid EOs which have hurt the economy. So here we are paying extra for gas due to stupidity.

Let’s be honest, he isn’t in charge.

The worst part is we are seeing a dangerous merge of government and big business (Pfizer selling their vax and the govt “mandating” it).

Did you know that the Middle East and Russia aren’t in America

So you believe the few ivermectin doctor but not the vast majority that say don’t take it?

I need to open a tin foil hat store!

Oil prices/inflation has more to do with OPEC/the Saudi oil cartel keeping oil prices high and manipulating markets than it does with anything actually going on here with our government (aside from the current gov pissing them off with thier foreign policy objectives not being cowtowing to the Saudis like the last one)

It's almost like we should reduce our dependence on a largely foreign consumable with a limited supply as a means to stabilize the economy. But that's really hard and bad for the big oil money and the donor class here sooooo nahhhh fuck it I guess make it a us centric political football.

I couldn't figure out why this post was sounding off alarm bells in my head, then I re-read it and realized the familiar commentary: Liberals writing off their own incompetency and failures by claiming moral righteousness. Biden shut down the Keystone pipeline and several other Trump measures that made the U.S. a net exporter of oil products, and he pissed off the people that we need to work with to keep the prices down.

You are absolutely right. The democratic establishment have failed to do much of anything relevant about our dependence on foreign oil (or oil consumption in general) for far too long, because like I said, it's more useful as a political football if they don't actually do anything about it that would harm the donor class.

As far as moral righteousness, I'm totally on board with making the planet a little healthier for future generations and reducing need for oil overall, and if it comes along with damaging the pocketbook off serial human rights abusers and funders of terrorism, that's a pretty cool bonus.

Biden shut down the Keystone pipeline
Pipelines don't produce oil. They transport it. And I don't have a problem with people saying "I don't want a potential ecological disaster in my back yard or on my ancestoral land". Property rights and such amiright?

and several other Trump measures that made the U.S. a net exporter of oil products,
According to politifact and other sources this isn't necessarily true:

Especially reference this nugget, in line with my previously posted article:

Huh....who pray tell may be in control of those highlighted factors? Oh that's right. OPEC.

and he pissed off the people that we need to work with to keep the prices down.
Ah yes making America great by making us the puppy dog bitches of the same dudes who funded 9/11 and other acts of terror and human rights abuses around the world. American exceptionalism at its best.

Ah yes the pipeline that never existed caused this

The pipeline that was going to move Canadian oil

This may come as a surprise to some of you, but the US government doesn’t own the oil companies or control how much they produce or pump. Unless you’re advocating for nationalization of course. OPEC and thr US company share holders are reaping in the cash and laughing on their way to the bank.

Good one libtard but my defunded public education left me unable to read your stupid article

You do realize Biden canceled Keystone. Mandated that only top agency leaders could approve new drilling permits. Halted oil and gas leases. Blocked drilling in ANWR. So yes, the US gov’t can indeed control how much oil companies produce.

Yeah, the only problem with that logic is that production capacity is no less than it was in 2019, while demand is still less than 2019, but they’re just not doing it. Things that didn’t exist then and don’t exist now aren’t having any bearing on current prices. The ability of any administration, regardless of party, to have much influence on gas prices directly is pretty small. But gas prices are highly visible and effect almost everyone, so they become an easy way to call foul on whoever is currently sitting in power.
