COVID-19 hospitalizations were rare among fully vaccinated adolescents and young adults; 72% of hospitalizations among fully vaccinated persons occurred in persons aged ≥65 years, (median age = 72 years), 89% of vaccinated persons who were hospitalized because of COVID-19 had at least one underlying medical condition, 15% required ICU admission, and 21 (21%) patients died.

With numbers like these, a booster shot isn’t necessary for most people. People can get the vaccine and protect themselves, or choose not to or risk it. To even assert that boosters are necessary is completely anti-science. Those resources are better spent sending doses to third world countries whose populations haven’t even had a first dose, and places in Africa where HIV-positive immunocompromised people are breeding grounds for new variants.

These people pushing boosters for people who aren’t remotely at risk have more in common with Martin Shkreli than anyone else.

So does fox and msnbc. That's part of the problem. They all do (almost, CNN probably slightly better than the other two in this regard) a shitty job of separating thier news products from thier opinion products, and doc series that are sometimes disguised as opinion products, of which CNN yes, has some good ones.

Thing is 400 year old history isn't news, it's history, and in the context it was brought up was meant to generate clicks, be that by woke Timmy's ingrained societal guilt, or crazy uncle Tommy's impotent boomer rage after Timmy brings it up at the holiday dinner table.

I don't think any one of the 3 major 24 hr outlets are really a great source if you want straight journalism and aren't capable of separating fact from opinion, which let's face it most people aren't.

Edit: I had something about the bad orange man, but honestly it's overdone. Serious question though, with this picture out there, does that mean we are good to ignore these restrictions now? Or is that only if you're in charge? At some point this guy has to be held accountable for something.
