Dead thread
Eh I just got bored of the usual topics, it’s funny watching the narrative shift more in recent weeks than all year though, my favorite is CNN saying cloth masks don’t actually do anything when that was like a shadowbannable offense for Covid misinformation on leftist websites for over a year now.

If my RDO’s changed this week from sat/sun to sun/mon making me have a 3 day weekend sat/sun/mon will I get holiday pay for New Years?

Hey everyone,

Im a trainee at a lower level facility that has had his training terminated and am slated to go into the upcoming nest panel. My ATM has stated that I am eligible to be rehired on another OTS bid for the other option since I passed the academy, even if I were to be terminated officially after the NEST. Can anyone provide any other input on this?

If I were to resign from the agency before the NEST, would i be eligible for another OTS bid as well?

thanks for the input

Can you explain why you wouldn’t want to go to the nest and be retained now? It’s another shot guaranteed, where as a new application to an OTS bid most likely isn’t, even if allowed (I don’t know that answer).

Do you not want another low level option and prefer to go straight to enroute and try for 10+ pay? Your faster option would be to cert at a different low level and then apply to a center.

Field failure is grounds for non-selection. Your ATM is an ignorant or doesn't like you.

From what I understand I most likely would not be offered another atc facility, most likely a FSS if im lucky since im coming from a level 5. Why I was curious for more information about reapplying OTS again if terminated

If I were to hypothetically resign before the upcoming NEST, would that then allow me to reapply OTS since not officially terminated from agency because I didnt go through the NEST process?

There are still level 4s. I wouldn’t quit, let them let you go

If your training was terminated you’re already a field failure.

Can't make it at a level 5, this just may not be the job for you. Just saying.

Go to the NEST. You have nothing to loose. You either resign/quit now and you won’t really be able to make it back to FAA from another OTS bid (I think your ATM is wrong). Here is what happens if you go to the NEST:

1) you’re offered a second chance at another facility (highly likely considering how many spots are open because of Covid training delays)
2) you’re offered an FSS option or flight data at a center option (not a bad choice to at least have income before deciding the next steps)
3) you’re terminated (if you have over a year in the agency I don’t think it will come down to this.

IMO you have nothing to loose going to the NEST. Just ride it out. DM me if u have any questions

edit: to answer your question about being rehired. No because to be rehired you need to certified as a CPC for at least 1 year

Maybe, maybe not. Knew a guy washed out of one 5, went to a 4 and made it, and he's been CPC at an 8 for several years now.

Some 5s are more complex than others, and some facilities have different mindsets on training.
I knew one 5 that washed plenty of capable people, because their standards were just unrealisitic.
