But I never told him to turn right heading 170 immediately. Pilot deviation!
God forbid y’all need to do something other than “Cleared for takeoff, cleared to land, & contact departure/ground” ??

Just kidding. All you tower flowers don’t get all sensitive and butt hurt on me. It’s ok. Everyone knows. No need to fight it.

Why do you think I went tower! I only need to know four frequencies and zero approaches! ?

Okay really though. Does anybody's TMU do their job intelligently? Am I the only one that thinks they shouldn't be on the same pay scale as us? How have they not gotten better than they were 5-10 years ago
They do an incredible job of pointing airplanes directly at thunderstorms, and creating stacks that have to be vectored all over the sky to get in trail spacing to major airports!

They only know 5 VORs in the whole center that they'll reroute over because they dont know how to spell any fixes. And then the reroute literally takes them into tstorms. TMU should be run by contractors.

IMO it should be a position controllers rotate into like any other position in the facility. Let the people who actually work this shit out do the job.

This would totally be the best way. Have a whole shift of TMU though but work positions other days. So it rotated through the area. Then the people getting screwed are gonna be working next to you tomorrow telling you how amazing you are.

TMU seems to create this amazing phenomena where the second you get picked up there, You forget literally everything about the airspace you worked and the actual job of being a controller. You do seem to pick up excellent knowledge of all local restaurants.

Watching them sit up there sucking up to Management all day, and talking about how lazy the controllers are is pretty funny. Bunch of traffic dodgers that want to pretend that theyre in control of the whole center. It really is just the JV team for FLM or NATCA Detail selections.

If youre under 45, and in TMU or an FLM, you scared of working airplanes. Its ok to admit it. Maybe if you release a few more sets of departures the second they call that are all going to be tied, and then call down to say hey we need 20MIT for all those guys, a position in the district office will open up for you!

The ways we’ve been fucked by TMU are absolutely glorious.
TBF, our lazy old TMUs usually just slap as much restrictions on as they possibly can and call it a day.
It’s always some new TMU getting Rick rolled by UAL and the command center.
“your busiest hour is 80, you’ll be in simuls so that’s a 64 rate. I put 10’s all around excluding international heavies good luck”

No thanks, I’ll take a cake schedule with no stress. And not drink myself to death by 58. You keep pumpin those Js though. Maybe one day the good ole FAA will recognize how good you lined those babies up! You might even get a “controller of the year” trophy to put next to your collection of empty alcohol bottles atop the fridge!

Do TMUs not drink?

This job is only stressful if you suck at it.
