PHL

Is there speculation on when they’ll contact with tentative offers? How did they work the N90/C90 bids?

my speculation is that it won’t be til they have the kinks worked out in the training sims and automation, which with the news we have gotten isn’t anywhere near ready yet. Although their announced timeline is to have us there between September 30-December 31 of this year, my guess is sometime next year.

or maybe they take you immediately and then TDY you to N90 to certify on live traffic instead of their current plan to use sims.

My guess is not til later after they've transitioned the airspace and everything. They probably want to just build a pool to pull from. I put in for both that and the N90 bid. Was referred for N90 months ago but haven't heard anything.

Have you been referred to the PHL bid or just N90?

According to the new ppt, cpc target is now increased to 114 from 72 . Even with the generous 66% success rate (that's Philly's without the ewr area's abysmal success rate factored in), they need 59 bodies to the national target. Assuming 20-25 cpc's from n90 transfer over and a couple volunteers from phl check out quick, they're still looking at grabbing up a lot of bodies. Good prospects for those trying to get picked up here

Thanks for making me think I have a chance

Looks like they actually shorted you guys then since the target only increased by 42 but 100% is actually ~57

hopefully they’ll just short the original PHL areas lol. Although I wouldn’t be surprised if this move results in the consolidation of a couple positions I haven’t ever seen open in the 7 years I’ve been here which would result in a lower staffing target.

Less than ten cpcs are on the list to move to PHL

People want to stay on LI? More traffic for you and me!
will ferrell laughing GIF

There will be no nest list. The only option is certify or go back to your previous facility.
No he's talking about the n90 ewr CPCs who don't want to go to PHL. If they stay at n90, they go to a new area and train from what I understand, but what if they wash? I'm sure some of the guys have been there for their entire career so the whole return rights MOU doesn't apply to them. Could be a great scam to get to their dream fac if they did end up going to the nest because as a previous level 12 tracon cpc, wouldn't they be eligible to go to any tracon with an opening? Could be a 1 way ticket to A80, F11, or even CLT

Interesting potential loophole.

Maybe those people intend to wash out of their newly assigned area at n90 and then get a nest list
It’s covered in the MOU, probably because too many of us mentioned this option. If you wash at your first assigned sector, you get put jn ankther sector. If you wash from there, you get sent to PHL without the move money. And if you wash at PHL, then it’s per the contract, which means being 3rd training failure in a row does not guarantee retention.
