PHL Bid - AEA-ATO-21-RCM-73308

Philly itself isn't even that bad, obviously you don't live with the addicts in Kensington, but I'd live in South Philly until I'd have to move out to closer to 40 minutes from the city because of GF, or just lose her and stay in South Philly
Hell nah. I’ve been there and the pricing is awful. Trash on the roads is absolutely disgusting. I love Philly sports, but I’d never live in the sh!thole Philly is. And why would you want to be anywhere near Kenginston? Lol. South Philly has the best eats, but it’s still disgusting.

I just spent 8 nights staying in center city and walking/ ubering/ taking trains everywhere to check out neighborhoods. Only felt unsafe once and it was public transit. Most of the areas were chill. Checkout fishtown for housing. My gf and I loved the area, and if I'm picked up that's prob where we'll buy. If you need something more suburban, Ridley Park didn't feel that bad, only a little bland.
GF is a teacher in MD so have to live close enough to Cecil County, but prefer PA over DE for tax reasons. Altough fishtown definitely looks more my style for when its just me living there. I'm just looking forward to going to Nova games again, hope I can get some season tickets

I don't think South Philly is disgusting but I'm taking a Baltimore viewpoint on things, besides your views on disgusting change when you live in a dustbowl of trash with the closest city being a college town two hours away.

I feel for you on Baltimore. That place is awful. The bottle-necking i95 does from 4-5 lanes to 2 is unforgivable. Can we reflect on what a POS 95 is from there thru Philly?

Not gonna lie it's been a while since I've been to Philly, probably like four or five years, but I'm really hoping that any traffic is not as bad as DC was

It didn't seem awful to me, but then again I was a passenger or pedestrian so I wasn't paying attention. I will say the drivers are very aggressive, but in an efficient and only slightly nerve wrecking manner. Pedestrians, cyclists everywhere.

Not sure where you're from but drivers in the north east tend to be good but assholes on the road

House hunting already?

From New Orleans but living in and around Atlanta for the last 15 years. Our drivers are passively aggressive, like any good southerner, but we speed like we're hell demons.

I like to be prepared. Considering there's a 3 mos release date, I don't want to get stuck in a shitty neighborhood/apt.

Lived in Houma for a year and a half right around Katrina, but I was in third grade, Atlanta is pure chaos on the roads though

With the way the housing markets are it would probably make sense to buy after selection with a 3 month close. My place went up 150k in less than a year. Even with a training failure they would probably make out quite well.
