There's a difference between a biological research lab and a biological WEAPONS lab, which is the claim being made by the Russians and repeated on Russian state media (which yes is a thing in the west too) and the tinfoil hat corners of the internet, which surely is not a coincidence.
Yes, the US funds reasearch worldwide. Did something bad maybe happen in Wuhan and the US/CCP have a vested interest in not letting that info out? Sure I could buy that. Am I making the jump from that plausibility to buying the word of a state actor known for decades to be masters of disinfo and propaganda while they are in the process of invading the country they say it's in? No I'm not.
To believe that you'd have to believe it's gone from a training exercise/show of force for NATO, to "liberating" the donbass, to denazifying Ukraine, to oh shit oh ya that weapons lab we forgot about the evil Americans put in, let's tell the world about that now, when this shit isn't going according to plan for us.
I mean your whole spiel about Azov Battalion is a whattaboutism. It's good to be skeptical, it's good to be curious, but when I can hop online or look at the NYT front page and see literal fucking warcrimes play out before my eyes I have a hard time believing there's any just cause going on on behalf of the belligerents. Questioning everything so much you no longer can see truth when it stares you in the face is a problem, not healthy skepticism.
