I think they have the right to thier own opinions, and that if America/the western democracies want to stand on their principles in front of the world they need to literally put their money where thier mouth is. I'd say we in the US are getting the good end of this compared to the Russians, or the Ukrainians.

I mean good luck getting any country to get rid of nuclear arsenals if you aren't gonna honor agreements you made to protect said nations against foreign interference and attacks.

You can be for sanctions and also be for increasing domestic oil production, or many other scenarios. It's short-sighted to argue that anyone against what Biden is doing and also mad about gas prices is being a contrarian or hypocritical.

You can also be for sanctions and be a little bit of a political cynic and never let a good crisis go to waste insofar as advancing things we must do but refuse to because it's hard, which yes there's probably a bit of that going on. Keep in mind a deal is being worked with Venezuela last I checked, that's geopolitics for ya, and these things don't happen overnight.

Yes, the US funds reasearch worldwide. Did something bad maybe happen in Wuhan and the US/CCP have a vested interest in not letting that info out? Sure I could buy that. Am I making the jump from that plausibility to buying the word of a state actor known for decades to be masters of disinfo and propaganda while they are in the process of invading the country they say it's in? No I'm not.
