I've known people to stay at the Marriott during their entire stay in OKC.Has anyone ever thought about staying at a hotel while in the Academy?
I found a couple that would be $86 a day. They included a stove, dishwasher and a couple offer breakfast in the morning.

Back when I went to the Academy (a while back) lots of people stayed at hotels... Especially for RTF. Rack up those loyalty points!Has anyone ever thought about staying at a hotel while in the Academy?

Exactly. If you call and ask for an extended stay rate, it’s usually similar to the other housing options, with free maid service and usually a free breakfast. I got three or four days worth of free stays for vacation with all the reward points tooBack when I went to the Academy (a while back) lots of people stayed at hotels... Especially for RTF. If you are bringing family anatole is the way to go that is where im at now.
I think you answered your own question. The FAA is only paying 59 or whatever it is for housing. However you come up with the rest is on you.I’m bringing family and was planning on staying at Kim’s... is Anatole a better choice? I have a question about the per diem as well... if it’s 95.60 a day and Kim’s place is 81, will that cover it or is part of the money only for food? I saw the rate was split between food and housing...

Check out some Airbnb options. Some offer great discounts if you book for an extended amount of time.Ok thanks, I wasn’t sure how strict they were with splitting the money
I think there's a misunderstanding here. The FAA just cuts you a check for $95/day and you spend it however you want. You could spend $95/day and $0 on food if you want. They just give you the money and however you divide it up is your prerogativeOk thanks, I wasn’t sure how strict they were with splitting the money

You can file to get your first check 15 days after your first day and then file again every 30 days afterward. It takes like 2 business days after filing to actually receive the moneyThat’s good to know, thank you! That’s kind of a relief since I’d rather have my entire housing stay paid for. Is the per diem paid monthly after the fact like reimbursement? I’m just trying to get all my ducks in a row and have a solid plan so when I get there I can completely focus on training.

Food - NoThanks for the info... do you know if we are required to saved food and lodging receipts ? Or if we just get the full amount regardless..
