Hello,

I’m in a VFR tower and we are in need of some new Flight Strip Holders. Ours are old and are cracked. We unfortunately are having a hard time finding a supplier to order some new ones. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

3D printer works wonders. I probably have extras. How many are you looking for?

Don’t worry. NATCA cares a lot about equipment and they are actively working on a solution for your tower. They will be in touch.

Hey thanks guys for the replies. Basically I was told (by management) to find the vendor and get a quote and they would approve it. So that’s why I came on here to see if that was possible. As mentioned we are a VFR tower and have the bare minimum stuff required. If we want to have these things upgraded, then it’s on the controllers to initiate the request. I’m fairly new to the tower and trying to spruce it up a little and get it out of the 40s and more into this century lol. I appreciate the help.

If all the old strip holders break or get lost then management will have to figure out how to replace them and none of that is on the controllers 🤷‍♂️

What i was told is one company in france has the contract with the FAA to make strips. I heard that 4 years ago so im not sure if still true.

Tech Ops can't order them for you?

NSN: 6605-00-485-6649

Great post. I couldn’t find the NSN myself since our facility hadn’t ordered anytime recently. You pretty much gave all the info needed to order through government channels as there should be no reason to have to go direct to a commercial vendor.

Now that I have this info I will pass it along to them.

I should have mentioned we are a contract tower. It appears I may have started this post in the wrong category. Either way I do appreciate the help.

The Project Implementation Manager should be able to solve this if you are an FCT. Since your management is working with you, it's probably not a SaferFCT issue. I can also mail you some if the route you are going doesn't pan out for you. I think I have maybe 25-40 or so, but I haven't had time to look.

No smartassness intended, but a case or an individual box should have that info on the side. I say that because I had to order the shits once lol.
