City run Control Tower at Cape Girardeau

I knew a guy whose kid worked at a city one in Indiana...Elkhart I think. I think it depends on the municipality but I believe the pay and benefits were better than contract. All holidays closed, only open about 14 hrs per day, and they could be in the Indiana State Pension for retirement. Also BCBS or something for health insurance.

Yeah pretty sure it beats the contract towers overall. They're hard to get since there aren't a lot. You should get city benefits which vary obviously depending on the city and same with the pay.

I would imagine it beats any of the contract towers in the area by about every metric but you have to do your research

COE in Coeur D'Alene, ID has a tower they built themselves out of shipping containers and are working on making a permanent one. Nice area though, paying about 40-45$ an hour.

Better than you'd make as a new CPC at Twin Falls working for the FAA. Level 5 RUS is $37.82 an hour.

A lot of you center folks don't seem to understand how much better your pay is compared to the lowest facilities, especially levels 4-6 or so. RUS doesn't break $100k until level 8.
You have to count the benefits package. And I’m the first one to
Tell you every controller should make the cap. Also does the city guy get diffentials?

City benefits are gonna depend on the city. But lots of cities offer some sort of pension too plus healthcare will normally be better than what contract towers offer. Obviously FAA or DOD is better but comparing it to what most contract towers offer it's much better.

Differentials will also vary by which city/country that tower is employed by

I also know the kid, says it was really laid back. Great little gig. Equipment is old though same as any other contract tower.
