Your own math doesn’t add up. If things were that good, you’d be retired already instead of riding this out.

What you meant to say was your ex-wife is living in the paid off house with her new car from your TSP payout. Your adult kids are living rent free in the rental property and the emergency fund is held up in the court for child support while your trying to get by on $500 divided between port & cigars.

Folks at your shitty Z work 2 hours on position because they are understaffed since your DQed by high blood pressure and you watched them work complicated/busy traffic last week because the tinkertoy towers went ATC 0 due to staffing.

There are facilities out there whose ATMs’ turn away pizza because it exceeds the dollar amount ATC can receive as a gift.

This isn’t a good reason for us to be 30% underpaid and also working unpaid.

If people wanna live paycheck to paycheck it’s on them. Working unpaid is bullshit. Working underpaid also sucks, fact of the matter is we’re in white book wages with how much everything costs now.

My point is: save your cash, invest in income generating or appreciating assets. Contribute as much as possible to every tax-advantaged account. Marry a thrifty Asian woman who also works. And get a lvl 12 Z close to home and live with the parents until you check out (this was a toss up in prior years, but is MUCH more achievable nowadays with the new placement rules).

Yes, we are underpaid although I don't feel it quite as much at this point in my career. Honestly I'm more pissed about that our area is paid the same as the fat-staffed area across the hall doing easy light traffic with thicc juicy breaks and actual leave available.

You could double our wages (I wouldn't complain) and half the Z would still be financially strained based on the stupid shit I see on a daily basis.
