ATC Staffing Stability- Reform Proposals from a Veteran Controller

Exactly, we're behind the curve in that aspect compared to other professional trades and its crazy people think its ok.
Who the hell would ever say it’s ok to be behind? I wish someone could show me a federal CBA that has the things we want

VA nurses have Saturday differential. Several agencies have student loan repayments. A good starting point would be getting all the extras that exist in the government.
Anyone have overtime counting towards fers? Seems to something everyone is always up in arms about. Can’t do that without changing fers I would assume, that includes everyone.

Do other federal employees get assigned the amounts of OT that we do? (Genuine question, I’m curious who in the federal government uses the most OT)

No readily available information on who works the most. We have a much stricter scheduling environment than others. The max amount of overtime you can work is 40 hours per pay period. Many firefighters that ive meet have got 100 hours per pay period before.

I just showed you Feds that have things we want and then you just move the goal posts. Saturday diff comes up all the time

Yeah firefighters OT specifically is way different though because they have to work 24hr shifts so every shift they pick up is 24hrs of OT. On top of that their schedules are wildly different often times their normal schedules have them having half or more of a week off so it's easier to pick up a shift and still have time off

I mean LEOS are trying to make it law.

Oh shit and Federal Firefighters too.

Yes we're behind in pay, benefits, equipment, people, 2 ply toilet paper. Just about everything, except TOP, Flight Data time, and of course days off.

You're self worth has no low. You should be quiet and let the adults talk.

While it isn’t overtime specifically, federal law enforcement (1811 positions) that receive Law Enforcement Availability Pay have it count towards their retirement.

LEAP is effectively a flat 25% premium applied to their pay in exchange for an additional 25% work hours over the average week (50 hours/week).

That said, LEAP does not allow them to make more than the top of the GS15 band, so eventually their biweekly pay checks get capped. So their earnings that count towards retirement are still limited.

You asked for examples of shit other CBAs have and I gave you 2 examples.
Nice. I’m asking about other stuff as well. The weekend pay should be an easy thing for us. The loan repayment, I don’t think we’d have a good argument being that you don’t need a degree to get hired.

Y’all need to simmer the fuck down with your stupid ass attitudes. Half of you can’t even vote on the people that represent you. If you can’t, you are shouting into the abyss

I don’t love that model

Wasn’t proposing it, it’s just the closest I’ve seen. It does set a potential for premium pays to count towards retirement.

Edit: They also get the 25% premium while in a leave status (AL, SL, PPL, etc).
