2026 TSP max contribution

I never suggested our pay raises kept up with inflation.
Point is, if you want to retire, it takes planning. It's not easy to retire at eligibility if you don't have a healthy TSP balance. Huge jumps in how much contribute to your TSP are usually a challenge. Smaller increases as I suggested are easier to swallow.
You’re talking to people who are extremely irresponsible with money. The same people who are crying for a pay raise or claiming they have to work overtime to make ends meet.

Why are people complaining about the limit increasing? If you can’t hit the limit then don’t, nobody is forcing you. There shouldn’t even be a limit imo.
Not complaining but just putting my foot down and saying that it’s not automatic that I can afford to max anymore. It’s like you were chastised if you didn’t. We all don’t get 100k bonuses! There should def be a limit tho or else baron trump
Would put 500M this year

Love getting lectured by the old timers that bought a house in my city for 200k they costs 650 now

Let me preface this by saying low level controllers should be the most frustrated about our compensation. I think a lot of the complaining from high-level controllers is coming from the younger generation. We have to look at what 20 year CPC‘s have and know that we can’t live in the same neighborhoods, send our kids to the same schools, drive the same vehicle, etc. Because we can’t afford it. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to buy our house in 2009 after a giant housing correction and then refinance in 2021 for 1.9% on a 15 year loan.
You also don't hear from the lower level controllers as much because center controllers make up about 50% of controllers just themselves. So just more likely to be hearing from controllers at higher level facilities complain but trust me your level 5 controllers are miserable

Forgot what the exact stat was but something like 75-80%+ of controllers are at level 10s or higher.

And yeah, the guys at black hole 7s or below far from home should just straight up be quitting. As long as controllers aren't willing to resign en masse, the FAA has all the leverage.

That’s disproportionately centers of course. 300 plus people would staff all the level 7s

Getting conflicting information so just want to be clear, we have 26 pay dates for both 2025 and 2026, correct? I believe there's a difference between pay periods and pay dates as far as contributions go and some agencies have 27 pay dates. I'm assuming it's safe to just go off what employeeexpress says with their calculation, but it could be automated to say 26 for all I know.

Just want to make sure we don't need to use 27 instead for TSP/HSA contributions. Not that big a deal for TSP but it's gonna be annoying if I overcontribute for HSA.

Correct. By my count, the next year we have with 27 pay dates will be 2030 (pay dates on January 1st 2030 and December 31st 2030). Although I'm not sure if January 1st being a holiday might push the pay date to December 31st 2029 instead, so 2029 would have 27 pay dates.

The employeeexpress calculation shows correctly when it's a 27 PP year. It showed it right last time a year or two ago when we last had one.
