Hiring Bid Air Traffic Control Specialist - Trainee: FAA-ATO-18-ALLSRCE-57792

Sorry to hear that..did they mean months behind on processing the Tier 2’s or just months behind on the clearance process in general?
Do they notify you by phone or email?
This is the e-mail I got. Assuming it’s in reference to the Tier 2’s. I also received this after sending an e-mail to the general medica e-mail asking for a status update:

“You did not clear your MMPI and need additional testing in the Tier II process. I have already sent your file to HQ for coordination but they are months behind at this time but you will be contacted.”

So essentially they didn’t notify you on their own, you had to reach out to them to get the news. Awesome. Hope the rest of the process goes smoothly for you.

I know our sample size is limited on this forum, but it seems like a pretty decent percentage of people have been failing the MMPI lately... Has that been the case for other bids in the past? Perhaps they're just being more stringent with how they "grade" it these days? I just took mine yesterday, slightly nervous now hearing how many people are getting Tier II'd...

I emailed my poc Sunday night looking for a status update and I got it today. “We have received your conditional security clearance. We have not received your drug test clearance or your medical clearance.
Aviation Careers is not involved in the clearance process. We are only contacted when clearances are issued or denied. I cannot estimate when you might be fully cleared, as everyone’s background is unique. It usually takes 2-3 months from the date you take your physical. However, some clearances take less time and some take much longer than that.” ? 2-3 months waiting for a medical clearance when I have no bad health history and passed my physical is scary to think of.

I had to send in a written statement about an anti depressant I was prescribed in 2012. I sent that in on Friday, and yesterday was told they’re reviewing that. Hopefully that’s all I’ve got left.

I think I read somewhere in the past that roughly less than 10% of applicants fail the MMPI2. (Technically its not a fail.. just more evaluations needed)

2-3 months actually ain’t bad if that’s the average. Seems to me the only reason to contact a POC is if you are hoping for some confirmation bias on bad news.

To this point, about a week ago I went back to see how many people said they were tier 2’d on here. I don’t remember the number, but it was around 6 or 7, which would probably be in that 10% range of viewers here. I think it hasn’t been as big of an issue as we’ve made it, we all just freak the hell out when we find out about it happening to someone

EDIT: Just recounted, found 6 total

If I didn’t reach out to my medical poc again out of paranoia they would have been waiting for the records I sent them last week for who knows how long before they reached out to me again. They still haven’t confirmed receiving them since I sent them again. So for instances like that I think it’s in our best interest to be inquiring about things. They’re humans so stuff gets lost and forgotten.

I've emailed my HR an Background POCs for an update and have not received any response yet but my current employer received the reference check today

Over 700 cases currently backlogged in DC for Tier 2. Over 25 new tier 2 notifications from today's list. Expect a 6-8 month wait minimum (However, cases are not completed first in first out). The latest info.

What do you mean by today’s list? Did they complete another round of MMPI scores? If so, do you know what date they have gotten to?
