Got my welcome letter e-mailed to me today. Weird thing is... theres something about sending a form in at least 2 weeks in advance of your start date if you're flying in. Luckily I am driving.
 
Got mine too. Saw per diem info for if you use the FAA credit card, but no info on getting reimbursed for payments on your personal card(which I’ve heard is what’s recommended, or else you won’t get to pocket any additional housing per diem). Assuming they’ll cover that option/process when we get there?

Yeah, your entire first day is death by powerpoint on dozens of topics including this one, and they'll help you file for your first reimbursement 2-3 weeks after you start. Make sure you get a receipt from your housing provider, and if you fly be sure to save receipts from checked bags as well as Ubers from your home to departure airport as well as from OKC to your local housing provider.
 
It's finally time for the academy. I'll be hitting the road tomorrow before dawn, headed to Oklahoma and I'll be taking the scenic route, taking my time and doing some sightseeing along the way. Hope to arrive around Saturday night or early Sunday morning into OKC. One thing that might be an issue is the forecasted rain, which seems to be all along my planned route but I'll just take it easy and might alter some plans if it looks too severe. When are you guys planning on heading out? Looking forward to meeting you all at the academy.
 
Since I'm coming from the St. Louis area, I'll be driving out on Sunday morning and should arrive to OKC that afternoon.
 
Looking forward to meeting y’all. Packing all day tomorrow, leaving first thing Friday morning and should get to OKC late afternoon. Definitely concerned about the rain, but the benefit of leaving Friday is having the option to take my time getting up there if necessary.

Where you coming from?
 
Reporting in from OKC.. It's still tornado season. Weather has been crazy. Bring a gas can if you're coming in from afar. I stopped to get gas and the entire area lost power. Luckily I was able to yeet my gas can and fill up in-front of a bunch of stranded people
