Hi all. Anyone currently at CRP or ELP? With the latest NCEPT changes, what are the odds of getting picked up there? Good work life? How many in training, checkout times, etc. Any info would be great!

Can’t speak for the area but number of trainees and checkout times are included on all of the facility info pages.

I went to Corpus Christi for 2 days about 10 years ago. Now I'm talking about the town not the air traffic facility and I didn't like it. It seemed gross. My brother in law lives in El Paso and likes it; he and his wife just bought a sweet new house and are planning on staying there for the long haul. It is El Paso though, and it's pretty far from the rest of Texas...and any other city for that matter. Really good Marty Robbins song, though. Good luck!

Between CRP and ELP, I don't see any advantage to going to ELP. Maybe the weather, but it'd be only if you want desert weather instead of beach weather.

in ELP you will be closer to Beto's barber shop, which he said while live streaming a haircut today was the best in Texas. You also can't take a direct Hurricane hit in ELP. That said, i'd choose CRP over ELP anyway lol. Even if you dont love it, 2 hours to San Antonio and 3 hours to Austin. Most importantly, you aren't a stones throw away from the Juarez cartel. :yay:

If you're not a CRP native it's hard to find it home. Ppl are not very welcoming to outsiders right away probably because it's a very tourist city. The heat/humidity makes life intolerable in the summer. Beach life is nice but the beaches are dirty! They don't clean and comb them as they should. Hurricanes are no joke. Been through 2 in CRP. Schools are good, but traffic is ridiculous. Only one main "interstate" in or out so you can't avoid it to just get around. If you choose CRP over ELP I'd recommend bay side living. The older part of CRP. Less traffic and more of a homely feeling.
ELP is A LOT larger city than CRP. Big city living so to speak. So you basically find your niche of town and pretty much do all your shopping, outdoor and work on only that side of town. Traffic is insane, no H.E.B. ? and of course you are now on a border town. They are having a large influx of issues. They do have an Army base and military around just as CRP with the Naval base. The weather is still hot but you get the cooler mountain weather than cold windy coastal winters. The terrain is not flat desert but mountains and beautiful for Texas. Sorry I can't help with facility info but maybe the day to day living info I've provided will help. Good luck

I’ve been here in ELP for the last three years. You can message me if you have any questions.

I wish. Last time I saw them was in LA for there perfect from now on tour. I’m guessing you’ll be the first and last controller to get my screen name. Haha
Maybe!

They're doing a pretty extensive tour of small venues for the Keep It Like a Secret tour.
