When is the NEXT 2019 Air Traffic Control Specialist - Trainee Open Bid?

Does anybody know what the next steps are? I'm in pool 2 and qualified based on work and education experience (2 years schooling and 3+ years consecutive work experience) also hoping my pilots license will help. Anybody here applied with a pilots license or know if it helps? This is my first time applying so I'm curious as to how long it would take for them to accept/reject the applicants in pool 2?

Thank you in advance! :)

Expect a few months if you’re invited to take the ATSA. Then a few months after that to see if you’re given at tentative offer based on your score. No idea about if being a pilot helps in the application process.

Ahhh, I see. So we won't know if we got accepted/rejected for a few months? If accepted, will we have enough time to study for the AT-SA from point of invite to test taking?

Thank you :)

Yes and yes. I’d schedule everything in this process as soon as you can though. ATCprep has a good study guide for the ATSA. Check out the FAQ. It has a much more detailed overview of the process. Ignore anything about the BA. It is not used anymore.

What would you estimate couple months, couple years if you had to guess?
This fiscal year there were 2 Exp bids, and 1 open source if I’m not mistaken. Usually there’s one open bid a year. So expect sometime summer 2020 if the trend continues.
