General Questions

Charlie_Foxtrot well the AOB published on the priority list is the only one with any weight in regards to NCEPT releases, if there is something erroneous with it you could try to get management to contact the board so they can adjust to it. But what the AOB says is what you get, deviations don't work like that.

Yeah, it's not really erroneous. I appreciate the feedback.

You're not the only one suffering in this pain. Temp sup comes back in Jan to the boards, (before a cat 1 release) and a long term hold for a deployed BUE back in april, before we could release a cat 2. Neither count for releasing. Flip side, neither does our forced out retired in Feb so, it is what it is. NCEPT hurts, a lot. Has broken my heart for the last year and a half, and some MUCH longer.

'Soon to be certified' is projected not current AOB.

I understand that. I just don't know much about deviations and what can kind of situations they can be applied in. Thanks.

Yeah, it's ridiculous. There never seems to be an issue taking a controller for a supe job though. When the time comes to release someone as a controller it's, "Sorry you don't have the staffing for that."

Apologies if this is the wrong place for this, but I'm not sure where to go with any questions and this forum has already answered more questions than my facility.

How do lateral job openings on USA jobs play into all of this? My current facility is in the red, so does that mean that my only options are to wait it out, career progression, or potential hardship? Or would I be able to throw my hat in for N90, etc? Appreciate any feedback.

The only two FAA controller jobs you're going to find on USA jobs are for N90 and C90. Their bids are independent from the NCEPT process, and any controller is eligible to bid them at any time (although C90 is pickier than N90.) The staff specialist jobs you see require a deviation to be approved which isn't necessarily a given. The supe bids also require a deviation as well as a big ego and a small penis.

IJWTSOMF although the approvers of deviations have small tallywhackers as well so a supe bud has got a better approval chance than a staff specialist.

N90 is the home of desperation though if you're willing to try, before you do though ask yourself if you'd rather enjoy mediocrity or if you think dryhumping a cheese grater is intriguing...the answer will let you know if N90 is for you.

And not like regular dry humping, more like freshman at their first high school dance after drinking a small cup of Popov vodka you stole while your parents were arguing over who gets the last Newport type of dry humping...continuously...

Is you get selected for a TRACON only from a TOWER only, do you get your 50% raise when you start RTF in OKC or afterwards when you arrive at the TRACON?

If a facility gains prior experience new hires on the terminal placement list after the NCEPT priority list data was executed will it impact their NCEPT gains? Ex. STL shows + 2 but terminal list shows 2 hired.

Congrats to those picked up and condolences to those not. For those of us picked up to a TRACON only from a tower only, do you typically go straight to RTF/TSEW from your current facility and then on to your new facility? Or do you report to your new facility then schedule RTF/TSEW from there?
