I just realized there was a thread for my class. Received FOL few days ago...Right on, See you all on 1/30.

I see everyone is mentioning they are at Anatoles I’ll check them out, I’ve been recommended Isola Bellas.

I’d highly suggest not going to IBs. They are a total hell hole. I’ve literally only heard bad things about them. Anatole on the other hand is quite nice and I’d suggest them for sure. It’s where I stayed and I had my wife and two daughters with me when I went.

Really? I know people that have stayed there and they’ve said nothing but nice things, I’ve never been to OKC...Wow well who ever calls me back first then. It don’t matter to me in all honesty I’ll be by myself, if I was bringing my family then I’d be looking for nice. All I need is a roof.

To each their own I suppose 🤷‍♂️
Considering the full housing per diem is spent either way it would make more sense to me to try and get a place that’s nicer and a LOT closer to the academy too.

About six months ago IB changed their management and no longer caters to Academy students. I would highly recommend finding another place to stay.

Hey everyone, signed my FOL before the holidays. I just booked my reservation at Staybridge Suites OKC Bricktown. Per night, it’s $77. I know our per diem is only $63 a night; however, with the academy being as stressful as it’s going to be, it’s in a really desirable location & we all will need to take a breather eventually. Also, from what they were telling me, they have a big lounge area that would be perfect for group studying. Lastly, they have complimentary breakfast everyday, free dinner, wine, & beer M-W, & complimentary shuttle to the academy & places within a 2-mile radius. I would definitely check it out. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Hey fellas, glad I picked Anatole prior to consulting this thread, but I'll be there for 1/31! Planning to roll in the day before and avoid any extra costs - hopefully early in the day enough to settle in and be good to go on the 31st. Definitely down to get in on a study group.

I would recommend sticking together. Everyone being spread out is not ideal. Just my 2 cents.

I agree with this... Isola Bella was the first to call me back so I booked it...but since everyone is at Anatole I think I’m gonna switch it up, if I can. Nothing special needs to be done to switch? if any of you know.

Definitely switch. Nothing needs to be done. Just cancel
The reservation. I bailed out of that place after a week; it was horrible.

So there’s a few on the list that say Anatole, which one is everyone at? The AT&t corporate housing one has some good reviews.

different companies lease through the same location. There is one Anatole location(with a north and south complex) but all those companies lease apartments through that location. Pick one you like. I went with A&T corporate. Highly suggest.

They put me on a waitlist. New Genesis says they have availability. Anyone there or knows about the place?

I don’t think I’ve dealt with them personally nor have I heard anything about them. It’ll just depend on how you feel about them.

When I spoke with Christie, the manager at Anatole, she suggested that I would have to sign the lease quite promptly to lock in a spot, so it sounds like they filled up fast. I'll be at the south complex.

Does anyone know if Anatole has some sort of study tools or maps that we can use? My friend I was talking to last night said when he was at IB, there was some sort of useful study tool they had for students, and I was wondering if all these bigger complexes had that.

Denver, you were just there, any idea what my friend was talking about?

Anatole doesn’t have anything like that. It was most likely strip boards that he was referring to which Anatole doesn't have. A lot of students will leave behind their copies of the maps and miscellaneous study guides, so Anatole might have that hidden in some of the drawers but it’s not a guarantee. That being said, you never know until you actually check in 🤣

Depending on when your friend was there at IB, it could be their attempt to seem appealing again to students after their falling out and kicking out of the FAA last year. They allegedly fixed their issues and are open yet again to students with the FAA but from what little I’ve heard, it’s still a rubbish location.

He would have been there ~2.5 years ago, so probably before the real drama, but he actually said they weren't the best for him either.

I guess there used to be a practice test they sent you before starting basics that was really similar to the actual test, but the website is down. I am debating if I should buy the study guides and practice materials on here for both basics and enroute.

Take note all, to dig through your drawers when you get there, to see if there are any buried treasures!

I’m sure the study guides here are useful, but I’ll say they aren’t needed. I didn’t buy them, and I passed both courses just fine. If you’ve got the money and free time, I’d say go for it if it’s important to you. If not it’s more than doable just on what the academy gives you.
