Employee Requested Reassignment (ERR) into a 2101 position in Technical Operations.

How does this process work coming from a 2152 ATCS position?

Specifically transferring from Enroute facility to a Tech Ops Position, is this type of ERR also dependent on staffing ? Or, can you be picked up regardless of current facility staffing?

To bring this up without starting a new thread since it’s on topic.

What about transferring back into a 2152 position after taking a tech ops job from being a CPC for a few years?

So transfer into tech ops to get out of my current facility and then in a few years ERR back to the facilities I wouldn’t mind being at. Anyone ever done that or have any knowledge on it?

No was they would do that, at least not through ERR or NCEPT, Clint Lancaster crushed FSS people from trying to do this, and they even have the 2152 job code.

Not disagreeing with that. ZNY failures got absolutely hosed after getting sent to Alaska fss. BUT in theory couldn't you be a direct hire after 1 year in tech ops if you had the time as cpc requirement

Do you have anything supporting that? Being that tech ops is a completely different series and job Id think it wouldn’t be subject to any sort of staffing release criteria.

I’ve got no facts supporting this mind you. I’ll be taking to the tech ops manager tomorrow to see what he has to say. I’m not saying you’re wrong by any means. I’m just looking for experience or regulations for clarity.

That’s kinda of my thinking or simply being eligible to do an ERR back into ATC as ERRs are not only for ATC.

Sounds like its time to get a degree in whatever tech ops does...what would this actually look like-ie education requirement, err paperwork, etc. They just lost a bunch of people in some other areas of the organization so it creates opportunity to move
