He hasn't sat idly - he has actively been a complete douchebag and scammer. All he wants is to remain in the dues paid vacation club.I’m going to not vote for you Mick. You are part of the NEB that have stood idly by as our issues have mounted and multiplied the last 6-8 years. Now you feel inclined to do something? When there is a risk you end up
Working traffic again. No more expensed vacations and remote work.
Jamaal had one bullet point reference to Redmond in his last email. All it said was he (Redmond) was “inexperienced.”I love how they’re ignoring Redmond and Dailey. A run off would send a loud message to these assholes

Unfortunately you have to do more than 90 seconds of videos to get people to vote for you in a national election. Everyone gets a vote that’s a member. Their voices will be heard one way or another.See this is the thing. These NEB guys have rigged the game for so long they don’t even acknowledge competition. Every event I’ve gone to where I expressed my dissatisfaction I always got the answer along the lines of “if you want to see change you gotta take action.” That’s exactly what Dailey and Redmond did. Now these same NEB guys don’t want to acknowledge the two brothers who want to make change to our union.
Mick, Rich, Jamaal, Nick are prime examples of corruption. The fact they don’t consistently mention Dailey or Redmond in their videos show that because the way the union has been structured since Paul that they don’t feel threatened.
It just amazes me that these guys make videos pretending to care for the members. But simply I think it’s all an act, they just care to keep their Cush 9-5 and avoid traffic.
This is not the thing. It’s not the opponents responsibility to advertise for them. If the membership doesn’t know about them they could’ve been more visible.See this is the thing. I agree 50% with you, they could have definitely advertised more, on the other hand you are bonkers if you think the other 4 are not affected by corruption. You have a lot of reason to support... them... but it is like saying "NCEPT is great because it worked for us, screw the understaffed so ergo it is a perfect system."This is not the thing. It’s not the opponents responsibility to advertise for them. If the membership doesn’t know about them they could’ve been more visible.
This person didn’t say anything about corruption ?I agree 50% with you, they could have definitely advertised more, on the other hand you are bonkers if you think the other 4 are not affected by corruption. I’m not even criticizing them for their campaigns. But if it turns out the membership isn’t informed on their platform it’s not the “NEB guys” fault. And Jamal isn’t on the NEB.I agree 50% with you, they could have definitely advertised more, on the other hand you are bonkers if you think the other 4 are not affected by corruption.
I have 0 reason to support anyone unless I actually believe they’re our best shot. Whoever it is. Whatever’s best for the collective. You guys are too collaborative with the cynicism that plagues the internet. You have a lot of reason to support... them... but it is like saying "NCEPT is great because it worked for us, screw the understaffed so ergo it is a perfect system."
I’m just saying the rebuttals that are provided in each video seem to be Santa v Daniels or Devine v Halmton. I mean do you remember that nonsense video Devine sent out about the clothing that nick and Jamaal were wearing? This is not the thing. It’s not the opponents responsibility to advertise for them. If the membership doesn’t know about them they could’ve been more visible.
The problem is the system is setup for anyone working traffic to be behind the eight ball when it comes to campaigning. Rich or anyone else getting 80 hours off the boards travel around the country and are regularly in and out of different facilities. They travel on "official business" (AKA NATCA's dime) and then campaign while in town on their "down time".I’m not even criticizing them for their campaigns. But if it turns out the membership isn’t informed on their platform it’s not the “NEB guys” fault. And Jamal isn’t on the NEB.
Honestly a great idea. Someone should pitch this at conventionThe problem is the system is setup for anyone working traffic to be behind the eight ball when it comes to campaigning. Rich came to our facility in the middle of the week. Nick got word, and a few days later he showed up to make his pitch. A guy like JD, can't just leave in the middle of his workweek and take his work with him on the flight.
If we wanted to make the playing field a little more fair we would have three or so debates. Dates would be posted the year prior to an election year so members that plan to run for a position can bid the dates off. After nominations are made, have the debates over a 6-8 week period and allow candidates to campaign during this time. After the last debate, ballots go out. The election committee would run the debates and they would solicit questions from the membership prior to each debate. Members would be invited to attend or watch live and a full recording would be sent to all members after each debate.
They don't need nine months of videos and all the deep throating to let us know what they're about and why we should vote for them.

Well said all around, very fond of the amendments. So, I will speak to some of this as a candidate.
We have allowed our elections to be stolen from us "the members" for years, because they either have not had them or the "establishment" attempted to make a pre-determination of who will be in office. Take this election for an example:
4 of the 6 candidates were campaigning months before the nomination period was even open. These candidates were getting endorsements from Union representatives and contacting people via emails before they were even eligible or accepted the candidacy.
As a candidate by the election rules, I could not even get a mailing list until I accepted my nomination and then requested the list, by the rules the other candidates could not receive it either until after Jan1. But our members were already being hounded by the candidates and the campaigns had already turned sour towards one another before Christmas even came. Our Unions business was public, and the work of our leaders stalled at least a year before any new people could take office. So, for at least 1/3 of these people's terms nothing gets done and the membership is seriously thinking about re-electing people that have been on these board positions and thinking they will get change.
Our election process has turned into constant emails every week, bashing on social media, backdoor dirtiness, personal attacks, etc. Some campaigns have wasted tens of thousands of dollars, sort of showing little to no responsibility of money. It will somewhat be humorous if I make the runoff or even win as I have only spent a little over $1000 and some of these other candidates could have bought a car. It actually will somewhat prove the point of how wasteful some of our leaders are with money that's not theirs.
For as much work as some of the candidates should be doing in their respective positions, they somehow travel the country on "leave" as well. I can't get leave, and even if I could I certainly think with as much as some of them have traveled I would have a negative balance at this point.
That said, from my perspective, we sometimes get lost in our everyday and the rhetoric or drama. We are controllers, these people are politicians, we are allowing them to treat us as if we need to re-elect them to have stability when we have no stability. We are allowing them to convince us that things will get better if we just give them a chance. This is a Union Election, not an election to be a Congressman or Senator. We should not be in your face constantly, emailing you constantly, you are either interested in looking at the candidates, which you can through websites, phone calls, emails, etc. (I believe all of us are able to answer you if you reach out directly) If others are not then you more than likely should not vote for them as if they are not available now, they won't be when they take office. People say I should be getting "out" there more, I can fill emails, have conversations, even make a few facility visits, but reality is, if someone does not know who I or any of these other people are or do not bother to look up the names on the ballots they get, they more than likely are not going to vote or just listen to someone else anyway. The drive of "if I get elected" is because people are pissed and want change, those people are already looking at me. The people who are already voting the "NDJH" way have already sold their first child so they can do anything but talk to planes and they certainly are not going my way. I won't get into weeds, but I have already seen some of the "crazy" from them and see some of the politics that may have prevented the NEB from accomplishing things the past year. Not being in the room though, I am only guessing from the recent experiences I have had to deal with.
All of that said, I agree that in the future we should have some additional criteria in place to never repeat this again.
Whether in the unlikely event that I get elected or not, I suggest people send in amendments to the constitution to call for at least the following:
-No Union Representative shall endorse any candidate for a National Office Position. (It is a representative's job to represent and provide unbiased, factual information to their members equally.)
-No Campaigning shall be done until a nomination has been accepted
-A online platform should be set up behind the NATCA website for all candidates to openly interact with members. No hiding behind fake screen names, having factual campaign information, etc.
-I like the idea about debates (Just as a point of information, D10 did attempt to do a debate, but it was with about a 2-week notice, which was not reasonable.
These are a few ideas, but I highly encourage all of us to send amendments to the next convention and start changing this Union back to what it should be and about "us" the members. Regardless of whether you have or will be voting for me or not, VOTE! Send a message to the "establishment" use your voice and make this the highest turnout NATCA has ever had because for the most I believe they are counting on the general member not even bothering to vote.

I would love some debates. But, I don't know if a true debate is kosher with DOL rules. They are very specific about union resources not being used for campaign candidates, and union meetings offering equal time to all candidates. How can we require a candidate to show up to a debate requiring them to spend thier own money? My understanding is we couldn't allocate union money to it.So, I will speak to some of this as a candidate.

I would love to see this amendment, but it needs to be very well researched and thought out. It would most likely involve lawyers to decide if it's legal.
