Medical Ozempic

You could call the AMAS Natca flight surgeon and ask you don’t have to report anything but one of our guys loses his medical once a year so he calls them constantly for all his medicine (720) 857-6117.

Does Ozempic disqualify you? Also can you get waivers for trt, steroids etc?
I currently know 1 controller that takes either Ozempic or Mounjaro, I believe they sidelined him for 2 weeks (I believe) to assess side effects before releasing him back to the floor. Definitely should follow up with AMAS/NATCA people first prior to any official doctor involvement to be on the safe side rather than getting info from idiots like me on the internet.

I've lost 60lbs so far on Wegovy, but I'm in the SSS game now so medical doesn't matter to me anymore.

I looked into it on the medication database. The downtime for ozempic I think is 30 days. I’m not sure if it’s for pilots or atc or both. But regardless should be somewhere between 14-30 days. AMAS will be able to give you a definite answer

Mounjaro is no downtime for those on the ‘beetus special consideration. Had a guy at our facility go on it.

Here's the exact reply I got from our regional flight surgeon's office when I asked about it in May:

1. Detailed Clinical Progress Note (DCPN) from your Treating Physician stating the semaglutide (include the brand name) is for weight loss, no history of hypoglycemia, no history or evidence of psychosis/psychotic symptoms, suicidal ideation, or self-destructive ideations (at any time), and not taking more than 1 diabetes medications for weight loss.
2. Current A1C prior to first dosage (A1C must be 6.4 or less)
3. You must notify Medical (ACE-300) when you will be starting the semaglutide
4. You will be incapacitated for 14 days
5. After 14 days on the semaglutide, you must provide a side effects statement

If everything is cleared, you will be returned to safety related duties and placed on a Special Consideration which will require an annual DCPN from your TP and current A1C in your birth month regarding using a semaglutide for weight-loss.

If your A1C is 6.5 or higher, you may take it for Diabetes treatment and the same steps will apply, except it will be for Diabetes treatment and Step 6 will require a form w/A1C vice a DCPN.

Don't do it; I'm not even talking about your medical. This shit is dangerous and should be illegal.

This is going to be hard to hear, but just do the work yourself and stop looking for a shortcut.
