Haven't watched it myself, but I heard Duffy said next week is about equipment. So I imagine maybe the rest of the budget is going to Musk.

From Duffy’s perspective, we chose to extend which makes it appear we are satisfied with what we got. He’s not wrong to think this way. But definitely a big divide between older hires and newer hires. Contributing to fers 3.6% less and having a 2% mortgage are huge differences. So that’s why more younger controllers will stop paying dues than older ones. Older guys are still doing somewhat fine.

I was listening and I thought it was going to be about this entire new system he’s been talking about. It will be about equipment for sure but I don’t think (or hope) it will be all about equipment.

I am an older controller per your example and I've been blathering nonstop about how underpaid we are for years. My house is worth $800k+ on a 2.5% rate.... People hate and hated on the Razewen mvmt, they love hating the BAD guy, but now more and more are seeing how poorly compensated we are at least. It's okay, I'll keep being the BAD guy and championing a raise for ALL controllers, regardless of level; because I care about the profession, career, and my esteemed coworkers. Unlike Nick Daniels!

I don’t think you’re a bad guy. I was just pointing out the financial divide. And because of this, people feel different about their compensation. At my facility, you got older guys being all salty towards the younger ones who decided to stop paying dues this year.

Thanks man. That means a lot. I've gotten so much hate on this site for trying to champion better wages for all controllers though. People attempting to dox me, assailing my character, accuse me of being a troll, trying to accuse me of being bad with money, you name it. Yet, I have championed, for YEARS - better wages for rank and file controllers for the betterment of the profession. They HATE the razewen movement, they fear it, and they hate and fear what they do not understand...

I agree with you 100% on the older/younger divide, but I fall on the "older" divide and I 1188'd this January because I felt NATCA, and Nick Daniels betrayed me when he said he would 100% NOT re-extend, then did it. Along with the Eugene Freedman bullshit powerpoint regarding how our raises have exceeded Delta pilots lmfao

I too 1188d in January. A variety of reasons and not a straightforward/easy decision for me.

But since then, some things have happened that make me wish I could 1188 a second time.

"The FAA is also offering more opportunities for experienced military controllers to join the workforce. Using On-the-Spot hiring authority, veteran controllers will bypass the normal announcement process. Air Traffic managers will be able to directly accept resumes from interested military controllers and help place them at their preferred location. Veteran controllers will also be given a preferred list of facilities to work at, including larger facilities that command more pay. This list includes TRACONs Level 9 and below, Combined Tower/TRACONs Level 9 and below, and Towers Level 8 and below."

You're an idiot. Duffy explicitly said next weeks press conference is about equipment. There are no more "raises" coming.

He literally said next week is about equipment specifically. Even went so far as to say air traffic controllers are paid very well per nick daniels. You sure you could pass a drug test with these thoughts you’re having?

Must be nice. I been a thousand miles away from family at a facility I absolutely hate with no exit in sight
